  • "Not so much a holiday home, more a home from home."

    A much loved home that provided us with everything we could possibly need. Very comfortable, very quiet and convenient location with walks from the door. The kitchen has every conceivable implement although it took some time to track everything down as so much to choose from. Secure garden for my friend's dog and a pleasant outlook from the garden room. The owners' artwork from their travels adds a quirky and interesting dimension to this home.

  • "Really nice bungalow, only 2 of us and a dog so no need to use upstairs ( lovely though it was ) Lovely position by the green, we enjoyed some meals in the Vine pub at the top of the road and walks into Bembridge."

    Garden fully secure for dogs. I would say any disabled person may find some hazards, loose rugs,steps indoors and out even on the ground floor.

  • "A very comfortable and homely house."

    We felt warmly welcomed and appreciated all the goodies left for us to enjoy. The kitchen was especially well equipped which was a benefit as I like to cook. There was a slight whiff in the fridge, which did look clean I might add, but smelt a little musty. Thank you for trusting us with your treasures- my daughter had a play on the piano and we enjoyed playing the resonating gong!

  • "Nice spot on the green."

    Lovely walks close by. Quirky features such as the gong in the hall which I rang for breakfast (but I still had to get my own!!). Big kitchen and snug and welcome air con for cool air (it was hot on our stay). Secluded quite garden. And best of all a generous welcome pack from the hosts including a voucher to spend in a local shop. Thank you so much.

  • "The property was very comfortable and well equipped, as well as fascinating with its delightfully quirky ornamentation."

    The addition of an EV charger made life very easy for us, allowing us to explore the island without the worry of where we might find a charger. The owner's communication was superb and the welcoming goodies was a lovely touch. A big thank you to the owner for a wonderful stay. We would happily stay there again.

This delightful, detached cottage overlooks St. Helen’s Green on the scenic Isle of Wight.

As you seek some shut eye, three tastefully presented bedrooms await, including the king-size master and two doubles, with one situated on the ground floor which is ideal for those with limited mobility.

Enjoy a moment or two in the enclosed garden, offering a raised seating deck, lawn and a barbecue, perfect for those balmy evenings.

When you’re ready to explore, the village of St Helens offers some delightful attractions, from rock pooling on the scenic beach or dining in the beachside café, to watching cricket on the green while enjoying a bit to eat in a café, pub or restaurant.

Coastal walks come in abundance or look for an energetic hike if you’re up for a challenge.

Head to the nearby village of Bembridge, home to a working harbour full of pleasure crafts and fishing boats going for their daily catch, plus a great range of little shops, including an award-winning butcher, outstanding local fishmongers, local produce greengrocers and an art gallery.

If exploration takes you further afield, the whole island can be explored by car within an hour, meaning there will always be something for everyone.

About the location

ST HELENS

Bembridge 2 miles; Ryde 5 miles.

The village of St Helens lies in a coastal position on high ground, on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight, between Bembridge and Seaview. St Helens is a traditional English village, with the village green at the centre of village life, providing cricket and football pitches, a children’s playground and superb views right across Bembridge Harbour and Culver Down. The village also offers superb restaurants, pub, newsagent, Post Office and grocery store. A short walk takes you to The Duver, an NT area of shingle and sand, and once the site of a Royal links golf course. The beach here is very family friendly, with sand and shingle, perfect for making sandcastles and collecting seashells as well as crabbing off the Bembridge Harbour Causeway. There is the popular Baywatch Café, with all the amenities you need for the perfect day at the beach, and stunning views of the Solent and St Helens Fort. The fort was built to protect Portsmouth from a French invasion between 1867 and 1880, and at the lowest tide of the summer, there is a mass walk of up to 2000 people from the beach out to the fort and back again, with driftwood fires and barbecues.
