The Cottage is located in the small, rural village of Shorwell on the south west of the island, which is only a three mile drive from the sea and shingle beach of Brighstone. Shorwell amenities, are just minutes away from the cottage, and include a small shop and a traditional public house with a stream. There is a playground in the village, for young children and also a playing field. The village is ideally located for walkers and cyclists with its rolling countryside and many footpaths and trails to explore. The market town of Newport, which is the capital of the island, and the medieval castle of Carisbrooke, are within five and a half miles. There is a regular bus service. The two hundred year old cottage is a stone built structure with a large wooden door. It has retained original character features such as exposed beams, and an open fireplace. Stone Place Cottage offers comfortable accommodation for four people in two bedrooms and it is furnished with vintage pieces. On the ground floor there is a cosy lounge with comfortable sofas and a log burning stove. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. Leading from the kitchen, the spacious dining room has a solid wooden table and five chairs. The bathroom with a shower over the bath and WC can also be found on the ground floor. Up the open stairs, there are two bedrooms; one with a four poster bed and one twin bedroom. The cottage has an enclosed back garden which is laid to lawn with mature shrubs and trees and benefits from garden furniture. There is off road parking for one car opposite the cottage.
