We had a fanastic week here in September. The double kitchens made self catering a breeze, as did the 2 dishwashers! The dining room is capacious, and was the scene for great extended meals and card games each evening. The barbecue was great, as were the steaks from Legges butchers in Bromyard.
The local pub (The Wheelwrights) serves a great pint and a lovely plate of fish and chips, and having a gentle wander over the mile walk back gives you a chance to work some of it off.
The games room is great, and we played pool and table tennis for hours.
We rented a hot tub from Hereford Hot Tub Hire, and that put the bubbly icing on the cake, having a glass of fizz whilst looking at the rolling hills is very special.
For a carefree family holiday we found it ideal.

The owner was most helpful and we enjoyed our week.. Any reservations we had were to do with our dealings with Sykes Cottages, who we felt were a little inflexible with regard to dealing with our concerns regarding the Covid Virus.

Absolutely delightful.. There were 14 of us plus a baby.
The teenagers loved the table tennis and pool room.
The only downside was the road into the building. Would book again tomorrow if it wasn’t for that.
Owners popped occasionally to see if all was well but left us alone other than that

This is a lovely big cottage which was perfect for a big family get together. The big dining room was really sociable and it was good to have the 2 separate lounges -one quiet, one noisy! The kids really enjoyed walking up the lane to see the pigs in the farm. It was also great to have the games room -plenty for both adults and kids. Lovely owner who kindly posted back a cuddly toy we managed to leave behind!

The house was exactly what we were looking for.. The double rooms are all really lovely and there was plenty of room for the 16 of us.
The track up to it is bumpy but serviceable.
Really recommend!

Excellent property for a gathering of all ages.. There were 22 of us ranging from 1 to 70, celebrating 2 family birthdays. Great that there was a room big enough to seat us all! Fabulous location with beautiful views and only a 20 minutes walk to the local pub and 10 miles from Hereford. The games room, although a little tired looking, kept some of the party occupied for hours. Would definitely recommend.

The owner of property was very helpfull and went 'above and beyond' by bringing in our ASDA delivery and putting the cold things in the freezer for us.. Loved the cottages, comfortable and quaint but very well equipt, really is in the middle of just countryside which was great for us the children could play out safely. The track up is very rough as is reallly just a farm track so maybe would struggle if you had a car with a low undercarrage, our cars all managed it ok. Would deffinitely recomened for large family holiday venue.

Quiet location in a beautiful area perfect for a large group. The cottage was clean and warm when we arrived and had everything we needed. Sarah ( the owner) was very helpful and I would defiantly recomend for family gatherings etc. the huge table in the dinning area which links the two cottages was great. We will defiantly be returning.

The cottage was booked for a surprise family birthday .. Guest ages ranged from 4 to 69 , comprising of youngsters, teenagers and adults. Two kitchens enabled breakfast to be served to everyone at the same time. Two lounges meant the "oldies" could have some time away from the youngsters in comfort.. The games room was well equipped and a big hit. The cottage contained everything you could possibly want, from the fresh bed linen and towels to plenty of comfortable seating. The cottage was as warm as toast which was very appreciated at this time of year.

We all enjoyed our stay at Durstone Cottage to celebrate my 70th birthday. We were a party of 18 with age range ..70 to 3 years so a wide range of needs that were wholly met with this accommodation. The games room, whilst not in pristine condition, was ideal to entertain those in between hours and no-one was bored, in fact it got quite competetive ! The cottage is very clean, comfortable and very well equipped with everything you need. There are ample bathroom facilities on both floors. Good garden space and it is in a great location, lovely views and scenery and a decent walk to the "local" All in all a memorable weekend , rounded off with a great BBq. Thanks.

The games room was an absolute 'win' as far as most of us were concerned.. The location was a home from home and the views, even from downstairs, were delightful. The long dining room table was ideal as we were one big group rather than several families. Parking for a fleet of cars was a Godsend. The owner was very pleasant and, although nothing went wrong, it was comforting to know she was close by. I have spoken to all my family and friends who joined me on this little holiday and EACH person wants to go back to Durstone Cottages next year and the word to describe our break was 'perfect'! Thank you.

The house is very roomy, the big dining room is ideal for all guests to gather together & the smaller living rooms are homely and allow smaller groups to have a relax and a chat. We celebrated my husband 50th & had a very relaxing time. The location is lovely in the middle of the country peaceful and quiet. We highly recommend it & we will go again. The landlady is lovely & very accommodating.

This was an excellent venue for my husbands 70th Birthday weekend with family and friends.. The big dining room was particularly suitable for a party and the 2 well equipped kitchens were brilliant. The sitting rooms were warm and cosy even in the middle of December. The location is lovely and the local pub was very good.

The property was great for the dogs. Liked the situation of the property - very rural with wonderful views, the tables outside were great and the large dining room was perfect for 20 odd people. It was also useful to have 2 well equipped kitchens when catering for a large party. Also enjoyed the games room.

An excellent venue for a child friendly reunion. Multiple families can stay together in relative comfort with plenty of useful amenities provided. Great for a big outdoor BBQ and plenty of space for communal dining. Very helpful owners and the gorgeous Herefordshire countryside is spread out around you for soulful education. This appeals to young and old alike.

The beautiful setting of the cottage, every bedroom had a magnificent view. The kitchen/eating area was well designed allowing large meals to be prepared in both areas and then served in the central dining room. There were footpaths on the doorstep. Easy access to a number of good quality pubs. Plenty of things to do/see in the area.

Originally farm workers cottages up a mile of farm track, these two properties are badly in need of a face lift. The rooms are awkwardly laid out, with small dining kitchens, saleroom furniture and a poor quality finish. The brick patio at the front was in a terrible state, with broken steps, weeds coming through, and a safety hazard, especially for young children. The large dining room was long, but narrow and difficult to use with benches, and we only used it on one occasion. The description and photos do not give a fair reflection of what this property is now like, and we were very disappointed.
