A trip to the Welsh Border market town of Hay on Wye, famous for its many book shops, is highly recommended. The cathedral city of Hereford, food hub of Ludlow, and Wales' gateway, Abergavenny, are all easily accessible by car. The driveway to the barn will guide you past the farm buildings, where you can meet the horses whilst you wait for the gates to open. The entrance to the barn is set to the side with space to leave muddy boots by the door, step inside where the ground floor is both cosy and spacious and finished beautifully with a clever mix of vibrant colours and rustic textures. On entering, hang your coat on one of the conveniently placed pegs set into the exposed beams and take a seat while unlacing your boots. At the desk, research the day ahead, answer the odd email or browse the walking maps, local guidebooks and well stocked bookshelves. The heart of the barn is finished with exposed brickwork and complemented with sympathetic furnishings. Sit back and relax with friends in front of the wood burner or enjoy a movie on the smart TV. For dining, the barn opens across the rear of the building, creating a space that s just perfect for entertaining. Here you can dine in style whilst taking in the views across the gardens and lake. At one end of the kitchen is a cosy seating area where you can enjoy a chapter of a good book or play one of the many board games provided. There is even a Bluetooth sound system to set the mood. For the chefs amongst you, the barn has an open plan kitchen where you can really make the most of local produce. The kitchen has been finished to a high specification, including a NEFF induction hob, built in NEFF oven and microwave, dishwasher and an American style fridge/freezer with an ice machine. There is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer and separate WC. When the day is done, you will find two bedrooms off a spacious landing on the first floor. The master bedroom has a super king size bed with luxury bed linen. Bedroom number two has two single beds which can be zip and linked to make a super king. In the bathroom, have a soak in the freestanding bath or enjoy the wet room style rainfall shower. The water to the barn is via private supply. The garden, accessed through the kitchen bifold doors, is set to the rear and is a great space for entertaining. Sit and enjoy a simple supper surrounded by nature or enjoy the dark skies whilst roasting marshmallows over the fire pit. There is also bike storage and off road allocated parking for two cars in the covered carport.
