The nearby village of Droxford is also worth a visit, home to two pubs, a post office and a service station. The village also lies close to both countryside and the coast, including the beautiful South Downs National Park, making it an ideal base for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Let me make it clear, we had a great family stay at Coombe Place House in spite of the problems with this property.
First the good points:
Lovely rural location.
Spacious and is set in large grounds.
Well equipped kitchen.
Ideal for a group of upto 15 people (we were 13).
Now the not so good points:
Still described on some sites as in the Surrey Hills which are miles away.
There are no electric gates which didn’t worry us but please get it right.
When we booked it was claimed there were 4 bathrooms. There are only 3 one of which was unusable because of the wet.
It was claimed there were two washing machines and two tumble driers: there was only a washing machine and no driers.
It was stated that there would be a starter pack for the open fire: there was none.
The handle of the first door you encounter when entering via the side door fell off and the door would not stay shut.
The front door was unusable because the key didn’t turn in the lock so the door had to be bolted on the inside.
There were windows which couldn’t be opened.
In the garden was a tall stone monolith just balanced on its plinth. If touched it wobbled so we lay it down on the ground to prevent a serious accident.
The hot tub was not ready to be used on our first evening.

Beautiful stay at Coombe Place House. Stunning views. It had everything we needed and plenty of space for the dogs to run around. Very peaceful location with lots of lovely dog walks and nice pub up the road too. Looking forward to our next stay!
