This surprisingly spacious cottage sits on the banks of the River Avon in Fordingbridge, and with direct access to the river from the garden, it's the perfect spot for riverside picnics and fishing. Behind the Grade II-listed Georgian exteriors lie elegant interiors, including a games room, a sunny conservatory, and a cosy reading nook. Nature is quite literally on your doorstep in the magical garden, where you can enjoy alfresco meals on the patio and wander winding paths through the greenery. It's a short drive into the New Forest National Park, but there's bike parking at the cottage for guests wishing to explore on two wheels.

Home truths:
*Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There are two parking spaces available: one within the garden and a secure space in the next-door business's car park, accessed via a key code, plus an electric car charging point.
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot for free on request. Please supervise children in the garden, as there is an unfenced pond and direct river access.
*Guests will share one bathroom at this home.
*Up to three well-behaved dogs are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
*The beds in the ground-floor bedroom can either be made up as two single beds or one king bed.
*Please note that this home is on a main road, but windows are double-glazed to limit noise.
*There are steps and uneven walkways throughout this home and the gardens, so it may not be suitable for guests with reduced mobility.
