Although Canary Wharf has a reputation for business, this neighbourhood is so much more than boardrooms and briefcases. More and more trend-setting eateries, luxury boutiques and hip bars are calling the Wharf home, and with access to the DLR, the Jubilee Line and the upcoming Elizabeth Line, transport links to the rest of London are spot-on. Add in the edgy art installations, Thames-side green spaces and residential buildings that come with all the bells and whistles and there's not much to dislike.
You'll find this stylish studio in one such building. With views over the river, it's reminiscent of a trendy hotel, but that's why we love it. The layout makes the most of the small footprint, so even though it's an all-in-one living space, it feels like there are separate areas to chill out, cook and sleep. Floor-to-ceiling windows and Juliet balconies flood the room with light, while the contemporary and sleek finishings fit right in with ultra-cool Canary Wharf. Best of all are the amenities, including a games room (with chess, shuffleboard and a pool table) and a shared south-facing terrace where you can sip wine and watch the water. Sounds like heaven to us.
Home truths: *This is a studio apartment so there's no separation between the living area and the bedroom *There is a lot of construction and new development happening in this area – you can hear it in the kitchen and living space, but it's not as audible in the bedroom *The entrance, elevator and communal areas are shared with other residents in the building *There's no parking space provided but you won't need a car – Canary Wharf station is a short walk away
