Though the small double bed is a tad snug for grown-ups, it could fit two little ones. Outside, a small balcony overlooks the communal garden. It catches the sun most of the day, and nothing beats an alfresco sundowner after sightseeing. Speaking of which, this is a top-notch spot to explore the buzzing South Bank. You’re only a short walk from Big Ben, the London Eye, and the Thames – not to mention restaurants, shops, and Waterloo Station's many transport links.

Home truths:
*The second bedroom has a small double bed that is best suited for one adult or two young children. Though four guests could sleep here at a push, we think it's better for three.
*Please note that the WC is separate from the main bathroom.
*The balcony overlooks the communal garden.
*You won't need a car in this location. Waterloo Station is a short walk away, and you can reach many of London's famous landmarks on foot.
