Feeling like an artist's home, this South Bank apartment has character in spades. While it may not be for everyone, the home's lived-in charm makes it stand out – it's perfect if you're looking for something a little different, and don't mind a bit of mismatched furniture and specks of paint on the sometimes uneven floorboards. And while you need to climb stairs to reach the second-floor entrance, the location is great – you'll find several museums nearby, including the Imperial War Museum and the Cinema Museum, while Elephant & Castle Tube Station is within walking distance, too.

Home truths
There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home, which is on the second floor.
The style here might not be to everyone's taste. The floorboards are uneven in places, look a little tired and have some paint on them. Some of the furniture is mismatched.
Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay.
While the kitchenette has an oven, it's on the small side. It might not be suitable for larger meals.
If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the dining table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace.

About Lambeth
Lambeth is an unpretentious and centrally located part of town, located on the south side of the Thames, directly opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. It's home to the Imperial War Museum and though it's got its own historic palace, Lambeth isn't a grand area. It's a good place to experience real London though and works well as a base for exploring Westminster and the famous cultural hotspot of the nearby South Bank.
