Area Stow-on-the-Wold is an ancient market town which plays host to a biannual Gypsy Horse Fair, craft fairs and monthly Farmers' market,as well as an array shops, pubs and restaurants. The Stow Horse Fair is held twice a year, on the Thursday closest to 12th May and the Thursday closest to 24th October, this is a traditional fair for people to meet up and trade which dates back to 1476 when its Charter was granted; Stow is very busy for a day or two before and after each fair, and a number of shops, pubs and restaurants are closed. This area is a great base for walking within the entire countryside of the Cotswolds to be enjoyed. Cheltenham which is 20 miles away, plays host to the famous horse-racing festival in March and a superb selection of amenities.
