Home in on village life at this idyllic honeyed-stone cottage set in sleepy Little Rissington and just a short drive from the Cotswold's most beloved villages. Inside, this place brings all the cottage feels with original flagstone flooring, exposed beams, mullion windows revealing pretty village scenes outside, and at the heart of the home, a Cotswold stone fireplace to curl up beside on winter nights. Set out over three floors, the cottage's bedrooms across the top two floors are united with restful, elegant interiors. While back downstairs, there's a pretty terrace for alfresco meals and barbecues on long summer nights. Though if the weather doesn't buck up, the atmospheric dining area inside, tucked into the window bay, is just as inviting. When it's time for a great outdoors, you'll find circular walking trails and cycle routes on your doorstep. Or jump in the car and explore the region's famed chocolate-box villages and historic market towns, starting in Bourton-on-the-Water (two miles away). And you're never far from a traditional watering hole in these parts. Our vote goes to The Lamb Inn in neighbouring Great Rissington – the perfect lunchtime pitstop for hearty grub and a warm welcome.
