This beautifully converted hayloft is as picturesque as they come, both inside and out. Set in the grounds of the venerable Belchamp Hall that has been in the same family since 1611 and was the setting of the British television comedy-drama mystery series, Lovejoy, it has a palpable sense of age and belonging. The mellow red brick and slatted-wood barn is surrounded by mature trees and a historic walled garden. Beyond is an extensive private estate and the rolling hills of Suffolk, all crisscrossed by tranquil walking trails. Inside the abode, the original, high oak beams make a grand impression. There’s a kitchen, dining and living area all decked out in warm natural tones and a sumptuous bedroom that guarantees sweet dreams. After exploring the market town of Sudbury, a fifteen-minute drive away, or playing a game of tennis on the communal courts, snuggle up and savour the peace and quiet in your idyllic countryside escape.
