You'll find this Grade-II listed home tucked away in the medieval Cinque Port of Winchelsea. Characterful and colourful in equal measure, this house forgoes the typical English cottage design in exchange for bold Indian-inspired interiors. An eclectic mix of antique furniture, art from a noted British-Indian artist and kaleidoscope-hued soft furnishings create a truly one-of-kind escape. We're smitten with every inch, from the roll-top bathtub to the kitchen stocked with everything you'll need for cooking. The dining area is probably our favourite spot – we can imagine pulling up a rainbow-coloured throne chair and playing board games well into the evenings. We also love the garden, which has a custom-made outdoor kitchen with a built-in charcoal barbecue and a pizza oven for alfresco dining on summer nights. While kids play on the climbing frame, parents can savour a glass of bubbly around the fire pit, but during the winter months, curl up in front of the wood-burning fire for a Netflix movie night, instead. Location-wise, there's a great pub up the road for when you don't fancy cooking, as well as walks across Winchelsea towards Romney Marshes and Rye Harbour. When the sea comes calling, hop in the car, drive fifteen minutes to Camber Sands and spend the day by the ocean.

About Rye

One of the most picture-perfect places in the south east, this tiny town is one of our best kept secrets. Its medieval citadel is made up of narrow, cobbled streets and ancient buildings rising high above the marshes. Set on the little River Rother and defended for centuries by the imposing Ypres Castle, it looks for all the world like the land that time forgot. Exploring the pretty streets is...
