Rye is full of character and charm with its cobbled streets and ancient buildings, restaurants, pubs and the Kino cinema. The Rye Nature Reserve, which is on your doorstep. There are six vineyards in the local region, offering tours and tastings; Tillingham, Gusbourne, Charles Palmer, Oxney Organic, Oastbrook and Carr Taylor. There are many local walks in the beautiful countryside, no need to get in the car. Camber beach with its famous stretch of sand is a 40-minute walk away, or a quick hop on the bus.

• Notes: travel cot and highchair available on request. This cottage welcomes guests of any age but it is set over three levels with two flights of relatively narrow stairs. Due to the nature of the Georgian banisters and the narrowness of the stairs, it is not possible to install stair gates. There are cargo-style nets that can be attached across the top and bottom of each flight to help deter the little ones, however they are not intended to be a robust barricade.
