Lovely cottage in great area within walking distance of rail station and virtually on a quiet and beautiful beach.. Guests using 2nd bedroom do have to be sure footed to step from room to staircase. This wasn't a problem for us but could be for some guests. Owner sorted hot water problem very promptly

My husband and I had a lovely time at Seaview Cottage with unexpectedly lovely weather.. The cottage was warm and welcoming. The fresh sunflowers were a nice touch. The only thing we missed at the cottage were a few hooks to hang our jackets. Take heed of the warning, yes the stairs are very steep... Altogether a very positive experience! We will be back!

This is a fantastic peaceful little cottage, we are a family of four, although the kids are now 19 and 21! There was plenty of space for all of us, although as stated in the listing the stairs are a little tight. The living room has comfy chairs for 4 with two single seat comfy chairs and a two seat sofa, dining space for four, TV etc and of course wifi throughout which was a reliable 50Mbps during our stay here. Two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other as twin, and both rooms do have doors, (only mentioned the doors as I couldn't see them on the pictures). The kitchen is well equipped and had everything I needed to feed the four of us, and the bathroom looked freshly re-fitted with a lovely large shower over the bath, no signs of age or mould in here. We didn't need any heating whilst we were here, but I can imagine it would be warm and cosy in poor weather with storage heaters and an electric fire in the sitting room. No problems with parking my large car with plenty of turning space, no low walls to worry about as mentioned previously by others, in fact I reckon there is easily space for multiple vehicles. The beach is no more than a 45 second walk from the cottage door and is fantastic for the first coffee of the day or for the Gin at sunset. Graham was a fantastic host, nearby if you needed anything, nothing was too much trouble. The beach is great for all ages, and has plenty of sand when there is a long runoff at low tide, check the height and timing of the tide for this though if it is the sand you want. There is a small group of seals that populate the local area and provide hours of entertainment, and the sea seems rich with sprats and mackerel, we frequently saw shoals of both jumping and when the mackerel chased the sprats on shore the pickings were literally made off the beach. If you enjoy fishing then take your rod to the end of the jetty when the tide is coming in, catches of a dozen or so mackerel in an hour or so seemed to be regular! You can't get much fresher and they were fantastic on the BBQ. Lots to do for all ages in the near vicinity so simple to keep all ages busy, if you don't want to drive then the railway station, a 4 or 5 minute walk away, may be small but seems very well served, we went to Hastings for a day using the train, and at £15 return for 4 adults seemed good value. In summary, a great well equipped cottage, in a lovely location. Would I recommend it, Yes, Would I consider returning, Yes.

We had a lovely week at Sea View Cottage, the cottage itself was homely, cozy, clean and well located, just as it was described, we were able to do a lot of walking, into Eastbourne and Hastings.. A train station just a 10 minute walk away, a great pub just 5 minutes a cross the fields,

Four of us were booked in and there was only one settee for two, and one armchair.. The remaining chair was suitable for an evening relaxing, as it was very small and uncomfortable. Good parking at the cottage, but a short length of wall restricted access. I struggled with only inches to spare either side of my car. Removal of this maybe an idea.

We really enjoyed this cottage it had great views of the sea and it was cosy and clean.. We were blessed with amazing weather for February and it was nice to have friendly owners looking out for us. This was our first time in the area and we will be back for sure. Thanks for the memories.

September 2018
The cottage is in a great place.. When laid in bed with the window open you can hear the sea. Look through the window an you can see it over the pebbly beach. Normans Bay is ideally situated to get to many places. We went as far as Winston's Churchill's home of Chartwell, Rudyard Kipling's home, Batemans and very near Battle. It is great for National Trust and English Heritage members. The owner of the cottage is nice and friendly.

This was an excellent holiday cottage.. To look out through your bedroom window and see the tide coming in, and the yachts sailing by on the horizon was charming. Once you turn on the water pump the shower is powerful enough to knock you back. Everyone enjoyed the beach only being 100m or so away.

A most unusual setting for a holiday cottage.. Very out of the way and peaceful. Owner very helpful. Lots if places to visit in the area.

June 2018
A lovely holiday which was blessed with the very best weather.. Cottage was very comfortable with everything provided for. Lovely garden to finish the day in. The owners were also very friendly and helpful. Only complaint would be the lack of a cupboard to store non-perishable food in. Cottage is very well situated as a base for exploring the area. Railway station only a few minutes walk away which was especially good for getting us to the Eastbourne International Tennis Event (the reason for our visit to East Sussex). A short walk to the Star Inn provided excellent food at reasonable prices. All in all a very good holiday and a nice introduction to the South Downs.

Description of property was not accurate.. "Stunning sea views" were only to be seen out of upstairs bedroom window. Otherwise you only saw the beginning of beach. Shower over bath was only a dribble. Rest of the cottage was very comfortable.

It would have been nice to have some milk and teabags on arrival at the very least.. There was nothing. Great little cottage overlooking the beach which was very quiet. Nice little shared back garden but seat cushions kept in next door neighbours locked porch. We had to knock to get them which was it ideal and one day had to live without them. A washing machine would have been useful with 2 small children too. We had a good week though and I would recommend it.

A return visit to this comfy, cosy cottage.. Perfectly situated by the beach, it had everything we needed, and the little garden was a joy in springtime. Oh, and such a big comfortable bed too! We will return.

We were happy with the cottage, but it could be challenging unless you were fit and stable because of the bathroom being downstairs and the stairs steep and narrow.. The cottage has a second bedroom which would be unsuitable for anyone who is not pretty able-bodied, and hopeless for smaller children as it opens sideways onto a steep staircase through a sort of stair-gate opening onto the stairs. The kitchen equipment was disappointingly below standard - e.g. there was no wooden spoon, no good knife (just a breadknife and a small paring knife and something that looked like a saw), and no kitchen scales which made some of my Christmas catering a bit hit and miss. Main issue was there is no WIFI. Not just that we couldn't get into the WIFI, but it was not available at all. This did not matter to us, but could be important to others. The cottage location, right on the beach was really lovely and the walks along the pebble beach were spectacular. The Star Inn, the local, was a short walk across fields and it produced VERY good food and lovely service.

Located only yards from the pebble beach near the end of a lane, Seaviw Cottage is ideal for a quiet hoiday or as a base to explore the area. We found it well-equipped and with a lovely comfortable main bedroom. Would we stay there again? Yes, certainly!

A real gem. Looking forward to returning again, as we fell in love with Normans Bay and Seaview. We stayed at the cottage during a bitterly cold week in the winter, but were blessed with sunshine almost every day and Seaview kept us so cosy and warm. The perfect peaceful hideaway with easy access to the beach just yards away and to nearby Eastbourne, Hastings and the stunning rural areas of the South Downs, Pevensey Levels and the Weald. Olde Worlde charming cottage, sympathetically and tastefully updated by the caring owner, with a pretty shared garden full of birdsong. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the rooms recently decorated with comfortable furnishings and all you could need for a self-catering holiday. The ceiling height is low, so do bear this in mind if you are tall. The bed in the master bedroom is amazingly comfy to sleep on and the room has a sea view where you can watch the sunrise or the stars at night. The twin beds are also comfy and the room overlooks the garden. A lovely hot shower and bath with good water pressure. WiFi and Freeview. The modern adjustable heaters in every room keep the cottage super cosy; have no fear you will not feel cold even when it’s below zero degrees outside. At low tide there are sandy areas on the beach and toward the east, adjacent large sandy beaches toward Cooden Beach. But if you’re curious about other things to do in this part of East Sussex, you will be spoilt for choice. There are many historical houses and gardens in the area, plus country gastro pubs, Cineworld cinema at the Crumbles complex close to Pevensey Bay, Drusillas Zoo, adventure golf/pitch n’putt in both Eastbourne and Hastings, stunning walks and views along the coast at Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters, Cuckmere Haven, High and Over and several Sussex nature reserves. For unique shopping check out the local galleries, antique shops/flea markets and independent shops in Lewes and Old Town Hastings. We recommend the local fish from Pevensey, or available from the fishmongers on the Fisherman’s Green in Eastbourne. The coastal train track runs close by with a station halt at Normans Bay; it would probably take about ten mins to walk from the halt. You can access the Ashford to Brighton line and the London Victoria/London Bridge lines. Also, by changing trains at Haywards Heath you can also access the Thameslink service to Blackfriars/Bedford, or change at Hastings for the Charing Cross line. There is parking outside the cottage for one vehicle and being a private road there is very limited through traffic. The nearest bus service runs from the neighbouring village of Pevensey Bay into Eastbourne, Bexhill or Hastings. Taxi firms are based in Eastbourne and do not seem to mind coming out to Normans Bay to collect/drop off. If you are seeking a quiet location with nearby beach access and space to just relax, it’s the perfect spot for a break at any time of year and we highly recommend Seaview. But should you want an active holiday it’s also an ideal base for exploring East Sussex and enjoying water sports, paragliding, golf or fishing. The best of both worlds.

Very nice accomodation, very friendly owner, nice neighbours, near the beach, really quiet.. Only the height of the ceilings was a little low for us , most of us are about 1.80m, thats worked just ok - duck or grouse at some points. If you are a little longer it could be cumbersome.

This lovely cottage was the perfect base for my grandson and I.. It's a lovely quiet location but not too far from all the interesting places we visited. Would book again if I holiday in this area in the future.

Enjoyed the peaceful location, and being able to see the sea from my bed! Being in such close proximity to the beach was ideal for daily strolls to enjoy the sunshine and watch an amazing thunderstorm over the sea from the safety of the cottage. There is lots to do in the area, which is seeped in history and arts and open spaces.
