The beach is just a short walk away, as is the interesting lifeboat museum, and the 19th-century Wish Tower with its cafe and sun lounge. For keen walkers, there is a multitude of footpaths that criss-cross the nearby South Downs and slightly further afield, but still within easy reach of the town, there is plenty to see and do in the area including Drusillas Park, Beachy Head, and Herstmonceux Castle.
