Description

Set in the beautiful village of Ticehurst, Hazelwood Cottage is an end of terrace character cottage finished to a modern standard internally.  Set back from the road, this property has a safe and secure access path to the rear via its own enclosed and decked outside area.  Ticehurst and the cottage are situated in the heart of some fabulous walking countryside, to be explored with your beloved dog.

A short 15 minute walk will take you onto the Bewl Water circular path. Bewl Water has a host of activities including fishing, bike hire, watersports, open-water swimming and a laser challenge, so well worth checking out. Bedgebury, the national pinetum and forest, is just 3.5miles away, a 10 minute drive and Pashley Manor Gardens is a 1.5mile drive or walk, just on the outskirts of the village itself.  The village has a number of pubs, a post office and a local shop, an Indian takeaway, coffee shops and launderette.  In the nearby larger village of Hawkhurst, you will find a cinema, large Waitrose and a Tesco supermarket, as well as baker, butcher, coffee shop, pubs and a number of takeaways, and is just under 5 miles away.

Dale Hill Golf Club, designed by former Ryder Cup Captain Ian Woosnam OBE is just 1.5 miles away. The 4* Hotel has a restaurant, great for evening dining; or try breakfast or afternoon tea in the lounge.

Stepping into the property you will instantly be greeted by a modern, fully-integrated open plan kitchen/diner, a large living room with wooden flooring throughout the ground floor.  The property has gas central heating and a large wood burner for use when the weather is cooler.

Stairs lead up to 2 bedrooms and a fully-tiled modern bathroom, with bath and overhead shower.  The stairs are carpeted, as are the 2 bedrooms.

Outside, the cottage has a decked area with outside seating for sunny breakfasts, warm lunches or evening meals. The area is a suntrap all day long.

This cottage is simple in style, but modern in features.  The living room focus on the log burner and warm golden ceiling beams make it perfect for a comfortable evening with the curtains closed, either sitting on the sofa or in the cuddle chair in front of the fire or with the TV on.  There is a utility room tucked away under the stairs with a washing machine and dryer for guests to use.  Shop and Pub: within walking distance   Coast: 18 miles

Reviews

Lovely cottage great location pub opposite fab

Mrs M,

Lovely cottage, perfect for a cosy winter break - well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds and the dressing gowns and slippers a nice touch!

Ms T,

A lovely cottage, very clean, nice log burner fireplace and literally walking distance to the local pub and amenities, parking was easy and the cottage has a lovely cosy feel about it.

Mr N,

This is a lovely cottage and well situated too. We can recommend the optician in Wadhurst who mended my husband’s glasses and also the Piccolo Café and Barnett’s Books there. We visited several NT properties – Scotney Castle, Lamb House – Rye, Batemans & Knole – all very interesting and enjoyable. We also had a day in London and the train service from Wadhurst worked well for us. We ate at the Bell and also at the Indian takeaway, Spice Cottage, and the Londis shop was very useful for all sorts of things. Thanks very much for the delicious Welcome Pack!

Mrs G,

We had a lovely four days in this cosy cottage. We love this beautiful part of England. Were very lucky with the weather (sun). Visited many gardens and houses. Thanks for the Welcome Pack!

Mr D,

First time visiting this part of England. We had a lovely time visiting the coast and Scotney Castle. Cottage is cosy and relaxing. Thank you for the Welcome Pack. Village is very friendly.

Ms B,

Thank you for the yummy breakfast items. We loved staying here. The bed was so comfortable! We loved putting the bird seed out and watching the birds from the back door. The cottage is in a great place for visiting places and we spent all week pootling around. Would absolutely recommend afternoon tea on the Bluebell Railway (approx. 45mins away) and a walk (however long or short) around Bewl Water – especially if it’s a sunny day! Thanks for letting us stay – and for looking after us so well!

Mrs R,

Here for a family birthday party, an area we know well and so lovely to stay here in Ticehurst in such a comfy, well appointed cottage. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, have recommended! Thank you for the welcome pack – much appreciated.

Previous Customer,

Well appointed, cosy comfortable, very clean. Nice welcome pack on arrival. Would recommend to any one.

Mr S,

Wonderful stay in this beautiful, comfy, well-equipped cottage. Comfy beds, lots of hot water. Visited Bedgebury Forest, Eastbourne, Port Lympne Safari Park, Bluebell Railway, Camber & Rye. And the weather was beautiful all week. We loved our holiday here. Thank you.

Ms M,

We all enjoyed our stay at this beautiful cosy cottage and slept and relaxed really well. Ate at the Bell, just down the road – fantastic food and would recommend the Lamb Pie, King Prawns and all the puddings. Visited Scotney Castle, Sissinghurst, Bodiam Castle and Batemans (all NT). Thank you for the welcome pack.

Mr S,

Wonderful stay and lovely hosts

Ms H,

Intimate cottage experience. Bijou and charming. Excellent base from which to explore High Weald and surrounds.

Previous Customer,

Everything is exactly as it is in the pictures on the Internet. The information about how to access the property and directions are very clear. The property was a very high standard and wonderfully equipped. Karen was very helpful and replied to questions almost

Ms S,

Once again, we enjoyed a lovely romantic week in a homely and cosy cottage, surrounded by birdsong and fabulous sunny weather. Many thanks for the delicious welcome pack.

Mr Patrick M,

Really enjoyed our stay here in this cottage – a cosy, home from home place to relax and all that was needed, provided. Thank you, also, for the welcome pack. Like the village very much, too.

Mr Adam P,

A country idyll – we were charmed from the moment we arrived. The birdsong has been glorious, sparrows, blackbirds, thrushes and greenfinches all vying for airspace. Lovely cottage with a delicious welcome pack – thank you! The weather has been an added bonus – bathing the courtyard garden in all-day sunshine! Thanks

Mrs Sarah B,

Lovely cottage. Had everything we needed – in a great location and we had a great time. Would recommend to others. Thanks.

Mr Paul A,

Had a fantastic time here. Beautiful cottage and location, had everything and more. Would come back again and recommend to family and friends. Thank you.

Miss L,

We have enjoyed our second stay in this cosy cottage and look forward to returning in the future, and the welcome pack was much appreciated, thank you

Mr M,

We found that this property had everything you could possibly need for a self=catering holiday, including cake baking equipment! It was clean and there were plenty of towels, bed linen was provided and tea towels. Some 'welcome' food had been provided by the owner, which my husband actually cooked and enjoyed. The microwave, hob and oven were easy to use. All in all a home away from home for us, living in a two up, two down as we do !

Mrs O,

Thank you for the welcome pack. A very pleasant stay in this comfortable and well appointed cottage. Much of interest in the area to visit - Rye lovely. Many thanks

Annette F,

We have enjoyed our stay in this lovely, warm and comfortable cottage and greatly appreciate the welcoming pack. Thank you

Mr Patrick M,

Lovely warm and homely cottage - just perfect for a romantic break and a chance to relax either in the well appointed cottage or very nearby in the Bell pub and restaurant with delicious food and very welcoming and chatty locals in the bar.

Mr M,

Lovely stay with the Fam. Perfect.

Ms H,

Very comfortable, thank you. Lots to do locally. Bodiam, Hastings, Bateman’s, Sissinghurst, Bewl Water. Thank you for your welcome.

Mr L,

Had a wonderful time at the cottage. Lots of great walks nearby starting from the doorstep. The Bell and The Bull are two excellent old inns that you'll love, mind your head in the Bull if you are tall, it was made in the 14th century when people were shorter. The cottage was perfect and very cosy. We had everything we needed and Karen was very responsive and helpful when we had any questions but otherwise left us to enjoy a perfectly peaceful and restful stay. Most highly recommended.

Mr M,

We really enjoyed our stay here – the cottage was lovely and warm. Went to Scotney Castle, which is beautiful and welcomes dogs (outside for coffee). Thank you both for rescuing us last night

Mrs J,

Lovely comfy and cozy cottage. Well equipped. Great Welcome package, thanks Karen. A pity about the weather.

Mrs H,

Super cottage-everything we needed to explore this beautiful area. Even the weather didn`t stop our enjoyment=and well situated in a very friendly village. Thanks and we`ll be back.
