The village is an ideal base for a Devonshire break, with two shops, a pub, and charming architecture. Upper Beeding, surrounded by countryside and with the Adur River running alongside, is ideal for walkers, cyclists, and nature lovers. Just outside the village are the hilltop ruins of the Norman castle, Bramber Castle, where you can stop on your way to Steyning Museum to learn about local history. Heading in the opposite direction, follow the river down to the port town of Shoreham-by-Sea, where there are a few pubs and eateries. While driving down the coast, make a stop at Hove, Worthing, or Brighton to continue your journey along the coast. Upper Beeding is surrounded by both the coast and the countryside.

We loved it! We were a large(ish) group but there was so much space and different areas to be be in that we were never in each others way. The views are fantastic and we enjoyed walks in the beautiful surrounding countryside as well as to the excellent local pub. We also made the most of the fire pit which was a lovely touch. Would definitely go again.

Wonderful place for a Rural retreat, perfect old farmhouse vibes in a beautifully secluded place at the heart of the South Downs. Excellent pub and restaurant close by

Came with 4 friends. A marvelous farmhouse with amazing character and beautiful views, everything was perfect, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds and pillows, and more equipment than you would ever need you need. Every room was large with beams and plenty of charm and character. So peaceful would definitely come again.

Whilst not everything was terrible, most things were dated/broken and everything was dirty. The worst part however was that there was no mention anywhere of the open pond in the garden which was covered in debris (so effectively hidden) which my dog discovered by falling in. My dog is unable to swim, and had there been any warnings there there was open water in the garden I would not have let him down there. This is very dangerous, and mentioned no-where in the property, garden, or on Sykes website. We also weren’t keen on the number of wasps, wood lice and flies in property when we stayed, which seemed to appear most nights when it was bedtime. Spent most of the time in the conservatory as this was the cleanest area. So much about this property needs improvement. Clearly the bathrooms have been updated, but that’s where is ends. Will not be back.
