Area
Hornsea is a lovely coastal village located just 15 miles south of Bridlington on the East Coast. This historic Victorian town is perfect for families, thanks to its broad, sandy beaches and charming promenade lined with well-kept gardens. While Hornsea Mere, Yorkshire's largest natural lake, is located nearby, the town's lively centre has an old-fashioned ambiance with a variety of tiny shops, pubs, and cafes. A half-hour drive from Hornsea Freeport is Bempton Cliffs RSPB reserve, which boasts one of the greatest mainland puffin populations in Britain. As a starting point for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, and the East Riding's seaside resorts, Hornsea is convenient to Wassand Hall and its walled gardens. Historic York, Beverley's gothic minster, and Hull's The Deep are all within driving distance.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.
