It’s a lovely cottage with everything you need, like a home from home.. Dog friendly. Brilliant location with plenty of short walks as well as opportunities for much longer walks. Plenty of eating establishments both daytime and evening. Neighbours were really friendly and very informative about the area. Would stay here again.

Spotlessly clean, well furnished, home from home, with the bonus of a log burning stove. Very close to the town, beaches & Hornsea Mere. Everything within walking distance, parking right outside the house. Secure back garden, ideal for dogs. Just spent 4 nights there with my dog Maisie, would not hesitate to return. The neighbours were lovely, very knowledgable about the area.

Beautiful cottage, so well equipped & beautifully clean.. Great location for town, parks, Hornsea Mere, and plenty of beaches nearby, which really pleased the dog. Nice, secure garden. Lovely neighbours too. The house was very cosy & the log fire a welcome bonus some evenings. We will definitely be back.

We could relax with our dog.. Floors were pet friendly our Setter loved the underfloor heating. Garden was secure. The view of the mere was lovely in the distance give a rural feel to a central village location. Ideally positioned for a short simple drive to hornsea freeport or a nice walk and coffee on the seafront. Log burner was simple to use and gave a cosy feel to our evenings. Nice rustic decor, well equipped for self catering

Easy booking process.. Good price. Accurate account of cottage. Clean and welcoming on arrival. Lemon cake and milk was very much appreciated. Met the owner who was very friendly. Great nights sleep- soft comfy bed and such soft bedding!! Logs for fire can be expensive- perhaps if the owners sourced logs and sold them per bag to people staying there it would help. Would def stay there again

A lovely cosy cottage in Hornsea.. ... We had a lovely time staying in Fisher Cottage, it has been beautifully refurbished, and has a lovely garden to sit out in. Handy for Hornsea town centre and shops and not far from the Mere. Enjoyed the Museum in Hornsea

August 2019
The cottage was beautiful, very clean and very comfortable and the garden is a big plus for it.. We wouldn’t rebook as Hornsea was just a bit further location wise than where we normally go. We also struggled with the road noise early in the morning but that is just because we are not used to it.
Mrs Durkin, August 2019
July 2019
Fisher cottage was everything we wanted and more.. We were looking for a base to explore the East coast of Yorkshire. The cottage was very nice shown by the number of repeat bookings in the comments book. The lovely garden was a just a joy to sit in and read or listen to the birds you would not have known you were on a main road. Parking right outside the door was a bonus. Wonderful we will certainly use it again.

We had a wonderful time at Fisher Cottage with our dog, Treacle.. The cottage is cosy and warm, extremely well equipped and beautifully clean. It felt like home as soon as we arrived, with lots of nice touches like the flowers, cake and milk. As we had travelled to Hornsea for a family funeral, it was nice to have somewhere that felt so welcoming, particularly the log burning stove which we all enjoyed. For us, the fact that you have a side entrance to the property which leads around to the back door and utility area was great for drying our dog and ourselves. The enclosed secure back garden with spectacular views of the Mere were ideal and the sunsets and wildlife were breathtaking. We had no problems parking at the front of the property and as other reviews have said, the neighbours are so friendly and a pleasure to chat to. We found a wealth of interesting walks from our front door, including the Trans-Pennine Way which starts in Hornsea and goes all the way to Liverpool, you can pick up the route less than 500 yards from the cottage. The large supermarket, just around the corner, is also very useful. We would thoroughly recommend a stay at Fisher Cottage and would definitely book to come again - it is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

We visited this lovely little cottage over the New Year.. It is decorated and equipped to a good standard. Beds very warm and comfortable, nice garden, enclosed and secure for the dog. A short walk to town and the beach, with a Tesco close by. Nice little touches like Lemon cake, milk and flowers on arrival and a Christmas tree too. Plenty of equipment to be able to cook in and plenty of choices to eat out. The Mere cafe a nice walk away too, will definitely try this cottage again in the summer, as was very impressed with our first visit to Hornsea.

Fisher Cottage is very convenient for Hornsea town, the Mere (lovely food at the cafe) and Tesco, which is just up the road. The cottage has been tastefully renovated and decorated by Anna and Paul. They are a delightful couple and genuinely welcoming. Anna makes a yummy lemon cake! All the rooms are comfortable, and there is a definite feel of luxury about the place. Thick carpets in the bedrooms and marble work tops in the kitchen add to this feeling. The garden is beautiful, and there is a splendid view of Hornsea Mere, and when we stayed at Fisher Cottage the sunsets were as good as we've seen in Paphos. We will most certainly be returning.

Fisher Cottage is the finest, most well-equipped holiday property we have ever stayed in, with more than enough mod-cons, while retaining so much of the character of the cottage.. The owners have done everything possible to make one's stay as near to perfect as possible. It even has the most charming, friendly and helpful neighbours. I just hope that these comments don't make everyone book it, because we want to go back!!!
Mr Massey
May 2017
A very comfortable well equipped cottage ,very handy for the town and shops .. Nice views of the nearby Mere from the secure garden at the rear of the property.Good base to explore this part of Yorkshire. Friendly helpful next door neighbors. We had a lovely holiday here and our cross collie dog was happy here as well.

March 2017
Fisher Cottage is a lovely property set in Hornsea.. The sitting room is small but cosy, the kitchen is well stocked and the outside patio area and garden is very relaxing. The bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable, and the bath and shower offer hot lashings of water. All in all a lovely holiday and the neighbours next door were very welcoming and friendly lovely people. A very comfortable property particularly if you are taking your dog.
Mrs Bradbury
February 2017
What a treasure of a cottage, beautiful interior and décor finished to an extremely high standard.. The bed was like lying on a big fluffy cloud. The log burner was so cosy to curl in front each evening and the kitchen was well equipped and laid out, in fact we wanted for nothing during our week there. The owners are lovely and so welcoming and we arrived to fresh flowers, milk, tea bags and THE BEST home made lemon drizzle cake ever !! The location was spot on for what we wanted, the locals were very friendly and the neighbours were extremely welcoming and informative for any days out or trips that we planned. We will definitely return in fact we were worried about putting feedback on as we don't want everyone to book this cottage so that we can't get in :) Fantastic value for money and the interior design and planning of layout etc the owners could show quite a few other holiday cottage owners a thing or two. Thanks for one of the best breaks we've ever had in this country.
Mrs Ferguson, March 2017

December 2016
Fisher Cottage is a beautifully renovated property fitted to an extremely high spec.. We loved the log burner, the huge luxury bed which was so comfortable, constant hot water, underfloor heating, panoramic view of The Mere from the back of the cottage ... We could go on and on. The position was ideal, 10 minutes walk to the dog friendly beach, even a Tesco in walking distance. If I were to be really picky, a hearth rug would have been nice to make the charming living room cosy as the quarry tiles, although entirely in keeping, were a bit utility, but as I say that's being really picky! Thank you to Paul for delivering the logs and to both of you for giving us the privilege of staying in your lovely holiday cottage (sorry about breaking the mug on the quarry tiles!)
Mrs Garner, December 2016
November 2016
As we have a young dog we wanted a private rear garden , it wasn't mentioned that the garden was shared access and to get to the garden was through a hand gate , so EVERYTIME he needed to go out for a wee we had to put on coats and shoes to take him into the garden to open hand gate then close it again afterwards .. Also Fisher cottage is on a busy road so traffic woke us from 6 am each morning that wasn't mentioned either.

My husband and I absolutely loved this cottage. We took our dog with us for a week and were swayed by the fact that the sea shore was only a short walk away. The cottage itself had all the creature comforts you could wish for with high quality fixtures and fittings in every room. The garden is beautifully laid out with table, chairs and a barbecue! There was also ample parking space at the front of the property. Fisher Cottage is lovely and cosy and is ideally placed for visiting nearby seaside towns. We would love to repeat the experience!

Having a break in early January meant we spent a lot of time in the cottage. We were so impressed with the high quality of all the fixtures and fittings. It was noticeable that the owners had gone that extra mile when fitting the cottage out. From cutlery to shower curtain to cooker they had bought good quality goods that were tasteful as well as being functional. Probably the best turned out cottage we have used in 15 years.
