The place stank! The furniture was disgusting with no support what so ever. Don't get me started on the kitchen. I've never seen such a gross kettle. We had to leave after one night. We'd paid for five. The owner denied anything was wrong, banned us from contacting her rather than helping and refused to give any kind of a refund. We told them we'd rented another(lovely) cottage in the village and there was no offer to meet and discuss the problems. Avoid at all costs you've been warned!

the cottage is a clean space in a nice area however there is a few problems that we did experience with the cottage such as the water the hot water doesn’t run for very long without going freezing and this makes it very difficult to bath/shower there is also a bad smell coming from the kitchen area but can be solved with opening the window or something also the stairs the the Attic (the room with two single beds) are quite steep but this was mentioned to us mr atkins was very helpful with these faults tho. On the other hand the cottage is great and very spacious is is near pubs/ restaurants and a coop just round the corner the people in the area are very respectful and kind and the area in general is very clean the bathroom is very big and the beds are comfy and bedding/towels are provided and little soaps so over all 7/10 it is okay and i would recommend!

The cottage / is in a nice place to get to other towns and beaches : etc / but sadly the property is very tired - and wasn’t as clean as would expect On seeing others and comparing - it could do with a refurb : we own a large building & property company .. Furniture could do with replacing : foam / and comfort has expired - downstairs carpet & rug was in need of machine cleaning - Found slug trails side of the arm chair near the tv -

The location, because the weather was not great (rained everyday) the cottage was near to the shops, all the pubs, even the bus stop, so you was not walking far to get wet ..

The accommodation was not what we expected we took into account the age of the property but we were disgusted with the bedding and towels that were there being very grubby looking and the property was not very well looked after I expected a something better than this for the price

Cottage is well located for exploring the local area.. Unfortunately the local pub is very loud on a Friday night until midnight, which didn’t suit us with our children. I’m sure it’s ok for others, and it’s nothing the cottage owners can do about it. The cottage is lovely and is well equipped with board games, kitchen equipment etc. We found the shower wasn’t great, and feel the cottage could benefit from a better clean in between lets/prior to people staying

Booked our first week away without the children and have already rebooked for next year it’s a lovely cottage with everything you would want or need in a great location. Nice walks, great scenery, family and pet friendly pubs on the doorstep plus local shops all within a two minute walk yet it’s quite and peaceful

I found the cottage reasonably clean and comfortable.. Lack of a shower wasn't too much of a problem as I used the hand held shower over the bath but as mentioned by others it was difficult to get a constant water temperature. The availability of parking spaces on nearby streets was a concern but I did manage to get a 'space' most days on Allison Lane, glad I have a small car. Some intrusive noise from the nearest pub (2 dozen steps or so from door to door) on weekend evenings for a while but the worse noise was my last night, on the Friday. Live music in the pub was incredibly loud, went on until midnight, then customers stood outside for another hour chatting and laughing. Had to have the bedroom window open as the weather was hot this week. However they did finally decide to go home and I got some sleep eventually! This aspect of the cottage location would really put me off booking it again, unfortunately. My sister joined me later in the week and we ate out at the Rose and Crown pub where we had a fantastic meal (their fish pie is delicious) very reasonably priced, and also at The Seabirds Restaurant, another good meal there. However, the cottage is a good base from which to explore the surrounding area and for nearby cliff walks. My favourite was to park at Thornwick Bay and walk north to the RSPB reserve at Bempton cliffs. The views were stunning all the way and the photographic opportunities of the seabirds at Bempton amazing.

We had a really good relaxing break at Duck Cottage.. The location was great with lots of local amenities in the village and close to the coast. The nearest pub is only a 15 second walk from the front door and serves some good value meals. The cottage was very quaint yet reasonably modern considering it’s a 17th century building.

A really lovely quaint cottage, close to the coast with very good local amenities.. The stairs/ladder to the attic room are steep but presented no problem for older children. They loved the upstairs space. Would go back again.

Myself and my fiance had a wonderful stay at Duck Cottage in Flamborough village and really enjoyed the sweet little 17th Century cottage. Very grateful for the amount of cooking utensils and bits available as we were trying to do a budget holiday and save some money by eating in. This was more or less a success except the oven is a bit of a liability. It doesn’t appear to be particularly effective and cooking time is pretty much time and a half. I guess that’s OK if you are aware of it. Also some of the crockery were a bit dirty but hey ho, just washed them up first! No problems with the wifi, which some guests had commented on in the visitors book as being a problem. The Seabirds restaurant we visited on a quiet week night was superb; we didn’t book and had homemade pies which were fantastic. Log fires and a glass of wine- was the perfect easy dining out from our cottage and a 1 minute walk away. We loved spending time in the cottage even though it was a chilly Feb; the heating is super and very easy to work so that was a great convenience. We lit the fire three times with an instant smokeless log from B&Q and enjoyed that very much. The bed is ridiculously comfortable in the master room; I suspected it was a memory foam and indeed it was! Better than my mattress at home, so that was a great luxury i enjoyed as the purpose of my stay was to recover from work stress with lots of sleep. It is a very peaceful cottage and the village was quiet due to the time of year which was perfect. The location of the cottage meant it was very convenient to pop out for supplies (Co Op across street) and to get to the different beaches nearby. We lucked out on weather and on at least half the days of a full week we had glorious sunshine and low winds. Lots of great photos taken and it was so peaceful. The main downside of this holiday was the washing facility; although the bathroom was immaculate and luxurious looking, unfortunately the bath wasn’t great for a quick shower. An inability to get a consistent temperature out of the taps was the problem I suppose and I prefer a shower to a bath. The temperature coming out was either scalding or freezing. I had to shower my fiance as they are less dexterous than I at constantly altering the taps. As a result I think we bathed less on this holiday than we would have liked mainly to avoid the irritation of the process. Still, we both took at least one or two very relaxing baths. I would definitely return to Duck Cottage if I wanted to spend more time in the area and RSPB Bempton would lure me back potentially.

The cottage surpassed our expectations on every level. We found it comfortable, cosy and equipped with everything you might possibly need. My brother and I were most impressed and would consider booking the same cottage at a different time of year.

We stayed at duck cottage with our children for a week in August. The cottage is really well equipped, clean and very cosy. It has a very traditional feel and the children loved the beautiful attic bedroom. We used the cottage as a base to explore the east coast but had a couple of wonderful days on the beaches at flamborough. The village it's self has everything you need, I would highly recommend this cottage.

We spent very little time in this lovely cottage as our mission was to seek out the puffins which we were delighted to find after forty minutes walk from home, and were the highlight of our visit. Flambrough was completely new to us and we enjoyed our brief stay in Duck Cottage which was close to a pub serving great food - a real bonus after a day in hot sunshine yomping the cliff path!!
