Area South of Scarborough and Filey on Yorkshire's east coast is the seaside town of Bridlington. On either side of the old harbour, two award-winning beaches with golden sand are teeming with activity. Beautifully constructed promenades provide everything from amusement parks to peaceful nooks where you may sit and people-watch. A interesting contrast to life on the beach, where the most recent episode of Dad's Army was recorded, Bridlington's shops, sights, restaurants, and historic "Old Town" can be found there. The Bridlington Spa Theatre on the waterfront offers nighttime entertainment. In addition, the East Riding Leisure Centre has a family swimming pool in addition to a number of other indoor pursuits. The charming towns and landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds, the nearby resorts of Filey, Scarborough, and Whitby, and the breathtaking historic coastline are all further away. The RSPB bird sanctuary in Bempton, Sewerby Hall, Danes Dyke, and Flamborough Head with its cliffs and caves are just a few of the attractions in the vicinity. Excellent for bird and environment enthusiasts as well as sightseeing.

Rented this four story house through Sykes for a week from 27th October 2023. We were a party of nine older adults. Unfortunately, our experience was poor. Problems were as follows:
The heating was not working in several rooms and people were cold.
The fire alarm panel was in error mode when we arrived and after resetting did it again later in the week.
In two rooms the wall sockets were not working some of the time - indicating an electrical fault (of concern if the fire alarm system is suspect).
The back door key needed a lot of jiggling to unlock the door - several people were unable to unlock at all. (again contributing to our anxiety if the house should need to be evacuated).
The temperature control on three showers didn't work.
The house description stated washer / drier but there was no drier.
Complaints were addressed, a new tumble drier was supplied late on the week and both plumber and electrician came but could fix neither the heating or the faulty sockets.
Lastly, there were no bin liners left, even in the kitchen bins. Apparently in a self catering let we should supply our own. Never had to do that before and what size would you bring?
None of us would stay there again!

Really lovely house overall, close to local amenities but a few bits to be refreshed in the bedroom on 1st floor (second one) as the carpet has an orange stain and the ensuite shower sealant was mouldy and dirty shower tray. The fourth room (first floor) had dirty tissues and fizzy pop can in the drawer. The windows in both rooms didnt seem to open so was rather warm (could be we missed a trick with the windows though) As i say just a few bits but overall a lovely house close to the beach. We had a lovely weekend with all the family for our mums 70th birthday.
