Mordon Moor Cottage, neighbouring with the owners on non working, Mordon Moor Farm, rests on Racecourse Road, close to Sedgefield.

The property is detached and has on-site parking, a large, sole use garden within tranquil surroundings.

Combining character with quality furnishings, this cottage is ideal for couples, a small family or group of friends.

A charming and attractive cottage, including wooden roof beams throughout, be welcomed into a sitting room where the glow of a woodburning stove encourages you to relax after the surrounding areas and enjoy a film night or catch up on a good book.

The kitchen/diner has a good selection of amenities to cater to your culinary needs, so you can enjoy a meal together at the dining table.

Follow down through the wide connecting passage into one of the two cosy bedrooms and a bathroom with over shower, sink, WC and bidet complete the accommodation.

Outside, the garden is fantastic, offering rural views of the surrounding countryside and a large lawn space, ideal for reading in the sunshine or enjoying breakfast in the fresh countryside air.

There is also a lockable bike store on hand for cyclists.

Mordon Moor Cottage is within reach of the amenities and attractions of Sedgefield, including Sedgefield Racecourse, ideal for those interested in horse racing, hosting racing days between August and May.

The town offers a selection of pubs, eateries and cafes, including the Impeccable Pig, Dun Cow and The Pickled Parson, as well as local take aways, Sainsburys, Co-Op and convenience stores where you can stock up on essentials.

The town is home to the 18c Hardwick Country Park, however further afield you can spend a day exploring the historic town of Durham, with its shops/bars/café’s etc, as well as riverside walks, the fantastic Durham Cathedral and Castle, a local museum, botanic gardens and river boating.

10 miles South of Sedgefield is Yarm, past winner of the finest High Street in Britain award with many independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.

For a day of adventure, visit the "Tees Barrage International Whitewater Centre" in Stockton On Tees for a range of watersport activities or the "Air Trail" which is home to the biggest climbing centre for all the family to enjoy.

Twenty miles away lies the 12th century Barnard Castle, set on a dramatic site above the river Tees.

SEDGEFIELD, COUNTY DURHAM

This historic town lies just north of Stockton-on-Tees, in the English county of Durham. It offers many sporting facilities including a golf club, squash club and cricket club, but is more popularly known for its Racecourse, which boasts a friendly reputation and relaxed atmosphere. There are many events on throughout the year, with race meetings dating back to 1846 and even earlier. With its restaurant, bistro and bars, you can enjoy a fun-filled day out with the whole family. The market town of Stockton-on-Tees has two modern shopping centres, yet still retains many of its original yards, most interestingly being Green Dragon Yard housing the Green dragon pub, recording studios and Britain's oldest surviving Georgian Theatre. The River Tees running through the town offers a plethora of watersports activities including rowing and canoeing, as well as dragon boat racing, and pleasant strolls along the Tees Walkway, accessed via the Millenium Footbridge. A day out can be spent with the kids at Air Trail, which boasts the biggest climbing adventure course of its kind in the UK. Set over four levels, with tight ropes, swinging stepping stones and balancing beams floating high above the River Tees, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Middlesbrough offers many places to eat, drink and shop as well as having a thriving nightlife and many attractions worth a visit including, the Dorman Museum, the Institute of Modern Art, and Stewart Park covering 120 acres of woodland and lakes, along with the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum. Other attractions in the area worth a visit are Preston Park Museum and Grounds, Hardwick Hall Country Park and the National Trust's Ormesbury Hall. A holiday of any kind can be enjoyed in this lovely part of England.
