Excellent shower at Hush Cottage.. Great walks in the area. The cafe at the end of the road leading to the bridge is excellent. Many thanks. Very enjoyable stay.

The cottage was really cramped, the kitchen was difficult to move around in , the sofa had to be moved to get to the table and there was no washing machine .. It was clean but there was no outside seating as was shown on the website. I left on Tuesday as I was not happy at all .I sent the owner a message on her phone but received no reply. All in all not a happy experience .

The cottage was beautifully maintained and it was lovely to receive a welcome hamper.. The owner was really helpful and gave us lots of advice on where to visit etc. and even arranged to sort a wifi issue the same day that we reported it; not that we needed the internet much, as the cottage was well located to local amenities. Lots of walks, meals and drinks were had. If you are looking for a quiet break away in a lovely location, then you don't need to look much further!

We stayed a week in this delightful cottage.. It was perfect for our winter holiday - warm, cosy, furnished beautifully with everything we could possibly need. The cottage is ideally situated in the town with all shops and amenities nearby. It is an excellent base for touring the area and for walking along the many footpaths, including a part of the Pennine Way. We will not forget the friendliness of everyone we met.

What a beautiful cottage - spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and well equipped.. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the location was so quiet and the bed so comfortable we slept in every day. Alison the owner was so friendly and helpful and the welcome hamper a lovely surprise.

Brilliant location if you like walking in the dales.. Middleton in Teesdale is as good or better than the very best of the more popular Yorkshire dales, and the people are so friendly. Hush Cottage was wonderfully presented and spotlessly clean, though the kitchen/living room was a bit small. Alison was very welcoming, and a really nice hamper of goodies awaits new guests.

We had such a wonderful time at Hush Cottage and can't recommend it highly enough - it really is the perfect base for a break in the spectacular Pennines.. Alison provided everything we needed and more, including a very generous welcome basket full of delicious treats. The only problem we had was leaving, we were so comfortable we could have stayed for weeks!

We had a wonderful stay at Hush Cottage.. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful as soon as we had booked. The cottage was absolutely perfect, quaint and very cosy. The decor was lovely and the owner clearly looked after the cottage well, it was well equipped and had everything you could need to cook a lovely meal and the hamper was a lovely touch. There are lots of lovely walks and cycles in the area. Unfortunately we only had one full day, so didnt have time to do everything we wanted but will definitely return to Hush Cottage again and would recommend to friends.

This was our first visit to the delightful Hush Cottage and cannot recommend it highly enough. It is immaculate and tastefully decorated throughout, with lots of little "designer touches". It has been sympathically renovated by Richard and Alison has styled it impeccably, an absolute credit to you both. We enjoyed some lovely local walks, I can recommend walking from the Cottage up to Grassholme Reservoir, very picturesque. This cottage is one of the nicest I have ever stayed in and we will definitely be returning, hopefully very soon. Thank you Richard and Alison.

Lovely little dolls house - we were a bit surprised just how small it was but it was very well equipped and very stylishly decorated.. Middleton was an excellent base for walking and we had some lovely walks without needing to use the car.

We have stayed at Hush Cottage three times now, at all times of year and have loved all our stays here. The cottage really is a hidden gem, everything about it is of the highest standard, Alison and Richard have done a fantastic job putting together a top quality , well equipped cottage from which to explore the surrounding area. It is beautifully presented and is ideally located for all the local amenities, pubs and restaurants and has many scenic walks on the doorstep. We really can't recommend Hush Cottage enough, we will definitely be returning in the future.

We stayed at hush cottage for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend and we were blown away by how lovely it was. We arrived to a gorgeous welcome hamper which was a nice start to our long weekend. The cottage is small but perfect for two people. It was very clean and had everything we needed. It is finished to a very high standard and the pictures don't do it justice. Beautiful cottage We went on a few lovely long walks including walking to High force which I would reccomend visiting. We are in every night so can't reccomend anywhere to eat. The cottage has all the facilities for cooking in including a dishwasher which was a bonus. We loved staying and would reccomend this cottage

Hush Cottage is in the lovely Teesdale village of Middleton, a bustling community in the heart of a beautiful dale. There are many great walks of differing lengths and many good places to eat. The waterfalls at Low Force, High Force and Gibson's Cave are great. The cottage is beautifully appointed and very tasteful. It is well equipped and extremely comfortable, a lovely retreat in which to relax. On arrival, we were amazed to find a very lovely hamper filled with all sorts of goodies. The owner is delightful and very helpful, and we had a great time.

A very clean well equipped cottage which suited us for a week break. An excellent welcome basket on arrival. We found it quiet and you can sit outside in a courtyard which gets the sun. A fridge, coffee machine, dishwasher, toaster and tvs up and downstairs. No freezer. Car has to be parked 100 yards away but there is always some space despite most houses not having parking facilities. Nice village with good eating and plenty of local walks for all abilities. We will return.

The cottage is clean comfortable and has most items required Lots of hot water plenty of sockets and every item inside was of a high quality. My car a Captur was able to drive through the small pathway to unload Unfortunately the Village Idiot seems to live next door with a least 3 dogs who bark first thing in the morning 6,45am and last thing at night, whilst one of them came into the cottage You look directly on to his garden which resembles a scrap yard and annoyingly he has a door that slams throughout a windy night He looked into our lounge several times and finally had a petrol grass cutter on full blast outside the living room window (you can see there is only gravel outside ) I went outside and moved him on We were unable to use the small table and chairs as there were 5 lumps of dog turds out side the door and the sight and smell made sitting out impossible So a great place to visit with lots to see but we would not book this cottage again for the reasons given

A quaint little cottage for two with log fire and electric radiators, very comfortable. Parking tight to the door and stairs to the bedroom steep. When we arrived a hamper of goodies was waiting for us which we enjoined although we left the alcohol as we are tea-total.

We have just returned from Hush cottage and had a wonderful time.. The owner Alison is lovely and so helpful. The cottage itself is finished to such a high standard and is equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday, including all the mod cons. Middleton in Teesdale is a beautiful part of the country, with all you need on your doorstep...including its very own bookshop. Can't recommend Hush cottage enough!

Hush cottage was one of the nicest holiday cottages that I have stayed in.. It was tastefully decorated and cosy. The owner Alison left a lovely welcome hamper and was very helpful. The Middleton in Teesdale area is great for a walking holiday with friendly local pubs for evening meals.

July 2016
The cottage looked beautiful in the photographs but it was even better when we got there. The fixtures and fittings were very high quality, no expense has been spared to make the cottage a real home from home. You can tell the owners have restored the cottage with passion and a lot of thought for the occupiers. There was no sense of 'that'll do', more a sense of how to make every little detail the very best it could be. All the essentials were there, everything was spotlessly clean, and the bed was comfortable with luxury bedding. The shower was easy to operate and powerful, and the bathroom looked like we were the first people to use it - again, spotlessly clean. Middleton is a very pretty town with all the amenities you need, the locals were friendly and there was plenty to do.

Where to start? Good communication with owner in the run up to our holiday; directions, getting keys etc. The location is perfect; down a pretty lane just off the main street, so it's quiet yet close to all the village amenities (Co-op, craft shop, book shop, ironmongers, several lovely cafes, tearooms as well as pubs, hotels and French restaurant. The cottage itself is lovely; very tastefully decorated and stylishly furnished, a treat for label spotters, but everyone will appreciate the quality of everything from the kitchen sink to the bedding. The owner had included so many thoughtful touches, Hush Cottage isn't so much a self-catering cottage, more like a high-end serviced apartment. Best of all was the generous Welcome Basket.(Won't spoil the surprise by divulging contents.)
