  • "Our weekend at Hoodgill was perfect from start to finish."

I booked the cottage for my 30th birthday and had a very enjoyable stay. I was very impressed with the cottage - spacious but cosy, very comfortable and absolutely spotlessly clean. It had all of the amenities we could want and need for the weekend. The appliances were easy to use and we were shown how to use the hot tub before the property owner left on the first day. Peter (the owner) met us at the property on the first day. He was immediately warm and welcoming. He showed us around the property and I was struck by how much more spacious the house was in reality in comparison to the photographs online. Peter reassured us that if there was anything we needed, he was only a phonecall away. He also gave some great recommendations, being very knowledgeable about the area. We visited the Forressters for lunch on the first day as per his recommendation- food was lovely, affordable and we enjoyed the dukebox in the bar area. Not a negative for us at all but perhaps seen as an inconvenience to some; there are only 2 designated parking bays but other parking was close by and within walking distance. There was plenty to do nearby but we enjoyed our time spent in the cottage. I was sad to leave and will definitely be booking a return visit hopefully in the not so distant future! I had the best weekend with all of my favourite people under one roof. We all commented on how much Hoodgill made the weekend. It was the perfect space- great house, super location, amazing host. The perfect mix of fun & relaxed. Thanks again Peter!
