The cottage itself was faultless, the facilities are fantastic and its position in the village was perfect for the local shops and pubs, as we were there mainly for walking it couldn`t have been in a better location, a credit to the owner..

I booked this to end my maternity leave with a holiday and we have had such a fab week. We were met by Julie the owner who was kind and warm and showed us around the property and how to work the heating... The house has everything you need the cooking, washing facilties we're excellent especially with a small baby we needed the washing machine! The dishwasher is handy too. There were plenty of glasses, sharp knives so you could cook home from home. The living room is large and the fire is ideal the TV works fine and the Internet is ok but as out in the country it is slow for streaming i player but we used Netflix a lot. The bedrooms the main bedroom very large and the beds comfortable and the smaller room fitted a travel cot in here and the monitor fitted nicely on top of the wardrobe. The bath upstairs is on the small side but ideal for bathing baby. If I could add items to the cottage I would add a stair gate for top stairs and a high chair for downstairs so we wouldn't need to bring our own. The town is excellent and literally minutes walk from local pub, shop and there's a lidl ten minutes away in crook. We had a Sainsbury's online food delivery which was perfect all in all a perfect break and we will be back next year.

Considering that we made this booking only five and a half hours before arriving on the doorstep, we we blown away by how efficiently everything went.. The Sykes representative on the telephone could not have been more helpful, and the cottage itself was sooo comfortable - and spotlessly clean. The owner, Julie was there to greet us on arrival and took the time to tell us about the local area. Again, she could not have been more helpful & friendly. We would highly recommend both Sykes cottages and, if in this area, Mill Cottage.

Such a wonderful cottage in a great location, ideal for walks around the village, river and fields with pubs, bakery & restaurant close by.. The cottage has many little touches that all help you to feel at home and with a sun trap patio and spacious shower room. The area around is brimming with excellent attractions and a real mix of industrial history and nature.

The cottage was immaculate and of a very high standard, with lots of little luxuries included. We recieved a very warm welcome from the owner and a lovey welcome gift. Many thanks to Julie for sharing her delightful holiday cottage.. The cottage has been beautifully and tastefully renovated, and the furnishings and amenities make for a very enjoyable stay. The generous welcome basket, quality linens, towels and toiletries add an extra special touch. The beds in the cottage are the most comfortable we have ever come across in a holiday let. We loved having breakfast in the sunny and colourful courtyard garden. The village of Wolsingham has superb walks from the doorstep with good small shops and various pubs and restaurants. We especially enjoyed the ale and company at the Black Lion. It is a great spot for trips into the dale and for going a bit further to Durham or Newcastle. Highly recommended.

A lovely welcome from Julie who showed us around the cottage and told us about local places to visit and eat.. The cottage is beautiful; it’s spotlessly clean and has absolutely everything you could possibly need. It’s tastefully decorated and the beds and sofas are SO comfortable! There was a welcome basket containing wine, chocolates, coffee, tea and biscuits with milk in the fridge...a very generous and special touch. The village is lovely. The cottage is in walking distance of the shops, cafe etc and everyone is so friendly. It’s also very central for visiting other places in the area too. We had a lovely walk down by the river, had a meal at the local Italian restaurant and enjoyed numerous cappuccinos at the cafe along with a little trip on the Weardale railways! Would definitely recommend this cottage; we’d definitely like to go back!

Had a wonderful stay at Mill Cottage.. Julie, the owner, was very friendly and left us a superb welcome basket. The cottage itself is furnished to a very high standard with a lovely bathroom and very comfortable bed. It also has a small, secluded back garden in which we enjoyed the good weather. Wolsingham is a lovely little town with plenty of walks straight from the front door. Mill Cottage is one of the best self catering houses we have stayed in and would highly recommend it.

The house is very comfortable with all modern conveniences. Everything worked well including the WiFi. The feature I enjoyed the most was the peaceful little garden. The flowers were beautiful and I loved sitting out there in the sun reading and listening to the birds. I even enjoyed it on those days when the sky was overcast. The countryside and the villages in Weardale are beautiful and there are many places to explore on foot, by car or by local bus. I highly recommend the cottage. I stayed here for a month this time and hope to return again next year.

We had a wonderful week at Mill cottage, the owner Julie met us there and showed us around - she was so friendly and helpful.. The cottage was beautiful and even lovelier than the photos - the beds were amazingly comfortable! Julie was always happy to help if we had any questions. The shower was brilliant!! We loved the proper fire, it was great having a washing machine and dishwasher too. It was also great for the children being near the village playground and swimming pool, they also loved Hall Hill Farm. A great week, and I would be very happy to book the same cottage again, very highly recommend! Thank you Julie x

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Wolsingham.. Mill cottage was spotlessly clean, and everything we needed was provided. Lovely decor, and all of the fixtures and fittings were of a very high standard. Great to have a log burning fire for cooler nights, made the cottage very cosy and homely. Lovely little garden and patio to enjoy breakfast outside. Jackie the owner was very friendly and helpful - the welcome pack provided was a lovely surprise! The beds were extremely comfortable, so we all slept very well. We would highly recommend this cottage, and hope to return for another visit.

Mill Cottage is a real gem.. ; it is perfect for a couple. The owner has gone above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. It has a lovely welcoming atmosphere. It is very well equipped with nothing lacking. Wolsingham is quite picturesque with a Spar and a pharmacy. There are some lovely walks locally and the North Pennines AONB is a short drive away. We will definitely come to Mill Cottage again.

A beautiful cottage , with high quality furnishings and every possible item needed for a relaxing holiday or short break.. We were surprised at the welcoming basket of goodies, and necessities usually only found in expensive hotels, like toiletries, tissues, sachets for washing machine and dishwasher, washing liquid, tea and coffee, milk and wine in the fridge ! The photos on website do not do this property full justice as we told the owner . Do hope others will enjoy their stay , can't imagine why they wouldn't. We will definitely return and highly recommend to family and friends.
