The Durham International Cricket Ground, which is located there, plays host to over fifty days of domestic cricket each year (between April and September). Chester-le-history Street's can be explored on foot along the Heritage Trail, and at St. Cuthbert's Church, where artefacts from the Roman, Saxon, and Medieval periods can be viewed. The city of Durham is not far from Chester-le-Street. Durham Cathedral, with its majestic, vaulted ceiling and outstanding architecture, can be found in this city. One of the best specimens of Norman architecture in all of Europe can be seen in this cathedral. The cathedral and Durham Castle are adjacent to one another, with the castle perched on a rocky outcrop overlooking the cathedral and the cathedral spire.
