Push open the characterful front door and be welcomed into the open-plan living room, where the exposed beams frame the sleek kitchen units, and you will find a range of appliances which are sure to encourage a spot of home cooking.

Step across the tiled floor and kick back on the sofa with a good book or browse through the channels of the TV for a movie night with your partner.

Afterwards, retreat up the spiral staircase, where the sense of opulence is continued in the plush double bedroom, with crisp white linens that are waiting to be curled up under after a busy day exploring Dorset.

The bedroom comes with stylish wardrobes for your holiday belongings, while along the landing you will find a single bed and a family bathroom featuring a shower over bath.

During the summer months, take your drinks outdoors and onto the decking area, with lots of privacy soaking up your surroundings.

If you can tear yourself away from the charming abode, enjoy a stroll through the village to admire the surrounding views, where you will discover a handful of pretty chocolate-box cottages.

Osmington Mills, the beautiful coastal hamlet known for its history of smugglers who supposedly took refuge in the local inn, now The Smugglers Inn, which dates back to the 13th century and serves fabulous food, and can be reached within a 20-minute walk along the famous South West Coast Path.

Craig's Farm Dairy, tea room and farm shop is very close to the property, so you are perfectly placed for buying fresh milk, cheeses and wonderful ice cream.

The seaside town of Weymouth is a short drive away, with numerous bars, restaurants, shops and activities, as well as the three-mile stretch of beautiful sandy beach, hosting a range of traditional seaside entertainment during the summer months, including donkey rides, fun fair and crazy golf.

A trip east to the unique Lulworth Cove is a must, here you can spend the day on the sheltered shingle beach or enjoy a meal at one of the local pubs or restaurants.

A walk from Lulworth Cove over the hill to Durdle Door offers the perfect opportunity to admire the stunning views over the coastline and unusual geological rock formations.

To the west you will discover the traditional market town of Bridport, with lovely shops and a weekly market with fresh local produce.

Take a trip to West Bay Harbour to discover a lovely beach and amazing cliffs to admire, and venture further afield to find Charmouth and Lyme Regis, where you can uncover your own fossils.

About the location

OSMINGTON

Osmington village, sits on the Jurassic coastline of Dorset, just 6 miles from Weymouth with it’s infamous beach and historic harbour and just 11 miles from Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door. Home to the famous Chalk hillside carving of George III on horseback, cut into the hillside to commemorate the Royal visits to Weymouth, this landmark can be seen from miles away. It is also the place that John Constable spent his honeymoon in 1816 and where he completed his painting of Weymouth Bay that now hangs in the National Gallery. The South West Coastal path runs through Osmington Mills, a tiny hamlet on the edge of Osmington. Here many walkers start their coast path walks at the Smugglers inn, where reputedly there are historic connections to smuggling. Be sure to visit to find out all the stories. A short drive will see you reach a local convenience store at Preston. Weymouth offers a larger variety of shopping, eating and entertainment choices.
