Looking out over Beaumont Lake in West Dorset, this beautiful newly built cottage awaits. Given the proximity to Weymouth and the coast, you can be at the beach in just over twenty minutes, but there's plenty to do on-site, too. Take advantage of the communal spa, swimming pool, and gym or get out on the water in a kayak. If you prefer a slower pace, there's a roof terrace with seating for you to hide away. It's worth noting that though this home can sleep ten, the four bunkbeds are probably best suited to little ones.

Home truths

Your host operates several apartments, so the exact view, layout and furnishings might differ slightly from the photos. However, the overall quality should remain the same.

We suggest hiring a car for ease – there's parking available.

As there are stairs to climb, it might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility.

You'll have access to the on-site gym, spa, tennis court and swimming pool here. They're shared with the resort's other residents.

This home is situated in a complex with other villas around - it's not the most private.

The bedroom curtains here don't fully block out the sunlight. If you're hoping to enjoy a lie-in, you might want to pack an eye mask.

Little ones will need supervision around the lake.

About Weymouth

Found at the mouth of the River Wey, the rather unimaginatively named Weymouth has been a tourist destination since King George III started to regularly come to the destination in the 1790s to paddle in the sea in an attempt to improve his ailing health. This royal visitor left his mark on the area and well-preserved examples of Georgian architecture can still be seen along the sea front. To this...
