  • "Lovely spacious flat, great base for walking."

The biscuits and cereals etc were much appreciated. We felt that parts of the flat could be cleaner but generally it was fine. The toilet seat in the bathroom was badly fitted so my husband improved the fit and it was more comfortable after that. Also no bed linen was provided for one of the single beds but we got around it so ok in the end. Finally much of the cookware needs replacing as very old and I would not be happy using it (I brought my own).

Thankyou we are always trying to improve. Property Owner

Ideal for a couple, who love walking or a small family comprising of a couple and two children wanting to explore this part of Dorset's Jurassic Coast and be near the beach.

Enter the property through the front door in the communal entrance, and find the first room on the right to be the lovely sitting room, with several armchairs and sofas to lounge on in front of the TV after a day of activities in the fresh sea air.

The large spacious hallway-come-dining area is where you can sit at the beautiful solid wood dining table and chairs, and enjoy a delicious home-cooked meal with your loved ones, lovingly made in the well-equipped kitchen, renovated in a modern style with all the essential appliances you'll need.

The first floor is home to the master bedroom, complete with an en-suite shower room, with plenty of storage available.

Moving upstairs to the second floor is where you will find the other two bedrooms, both comfortable bedrooms, and the main bathroom which has its original well-kept yellow bathroom suite, with tile renovations and decoration to produce a superb mix of modern and vintage.

The town centre of Swanage is around a 20-minute walk away, where you can walk down the Swanage Pier, after visiting its museum and cafe, before hopping onto the South West Coast Path for a bit of coastal exploration.

This path can take you right round to the Durlston Country Park and National Nature Reserve where you can take part in guided walks, boat trips, talks and children's events throughout the year, with more Trails beginning from the Durlston Castle, an extraordinary Victorian building restored and now home to a Visitor Centre hosting displays and exhibitions.

Where you’ll be staying

SWANAGE

Wareham 9.7 miles; Poole 20 miles.

The small, family-friendly seaside resort of Swanage is situated at the eastern end of Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, on the celebrated Isle of Purbeck and is probably best known for its wonderful, gently shelving golden sands. The little town offers visitors plenty of shops, good pubs and restaurants, some of which specialise in locally caught seafood, and is also well known for its annual jazz festival, which takes place each July. The attractive, Victorian wooden pier offers a great place for a stroll or try fishing, and often used a departure point for divers, it’s a wonderful place to watch the world pass by. The historic Swanage Railway has its terminus in the town and regular nostalgic steam engine trips take tourists for a picturesque 6-mile journey, chugging through lovely countryside to stop just beyond the romantic ruin of Corfe Castle. Nearby Durlston Country Park offers a lovely day out with spectacular coastal walks, dolphin spotting and wildlife watching, together with comfortable viewing points and a well-stocked cafe for a treat after all the fresh air. Take the short drive to Studland, which has one of the finest beaches in the country, surrounded by heathland, together with the regular chain ferry, which crosses the mouth of Poole Harbour to Sandbanks. This truly is a delightful holiday destination at any time of the year.
