A timber-framed roof, wood-burning stove and stable door created the ultimate country idyll here in the Little Dart River Valley. Slate floors downstairs and hardwood floors upstairs have a traditional feel, and the wood-burner sits in an exposed brick feature wall. Just outside the cottage, you’ll find a patio with a little seating area, and a shared walled garden beyond that where a barbecue area awaits. The expansive grounds surrounding the cottage are a fisher’s paradise with the Dart River for fly fishing and a stocked Course lake. You’re in the heart of the countryside here, meaning pure peace and quiet, but if you do seek a little civilisation the pretty Saxon town of Chulmleigh sits on a hilltop a mile away.

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Susan moved to Devon in 2003 after she fell in love with the glorious scenery.
