Immerse yourself in country tranquillity – this cottage nestled in the Little Dart Valley offers a peaceful spot to call your own amidst the beauty of the region. Spend your days wandering the grounds – fishing in the river or lake, reading on the bench by the pond or taking the little boat out onto the water. For those looking for a city break and the restorative power of nature, you’ll find yourself melting away here to the sounds of birds and leaves rustling in the wind. The inside of the cottage itself is both romantic and cosy, with light wood finishes and bright white walls, a rustic wood burner and a roll-top bath. Let your worries float away as you soak in the clawfoot tub. Then sizzle up dinner in the charming kitchen and enjoy it at the round table, or outside on your little slice of the courtyard. For those looking to explore further, the Saxon hilltop town of Chulmleigh is a five-minute drive away, while the sprawling Dartmoor National Park is an hour’s drive away and offers boundless breathtaking scenery.

About Devon

With its vibrant cities, wild moors and picture-perfect beaches – we can see why so many poets and writers, such as Ted Hughes, Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle, have been inspired by its stunning landscapes. Chic waterside towns such as Salcombe and Dartmouth appeal to yachties, while Totnes attracts a more alternative crowd. Or head to Exeter with its cathedral and riverside bars and restaurants on the picturesque quay....

Host

This home is managed by Susan

This home is managed directly by its owner who will be your point of contact before and during your stay. Susan moved to Devon in 2003 after she fell in love with the glorious scenery. She took on the challenge of converting her old 16th-century barn into four lovely characterful holiday cottages. Now, she absolutely loves sharing the extraordinary results of her effort with guests from all over the world.
