Visitors to the town can easily visit the neighbouring towns of Brixham or Paignton by boat, which is ideal for water-based activities and sea angling. The town also holds interesting historic roots and offers the medieval Torre Abbey Museum, The Torquay Museum and Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves.
