Accomodation Details
Four bedrooms: 1 x ground-floor king-size, 1 x double, 1 x ground-floor twin, 1 x single with pull-out bed. Ground-floor shower room with walk-in shower, basin and WC. Ground-floor bathroom with shower over bath, basin and WC. Sitting/dining room. Sitting room with wood burning stove.

Area
The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.

Region
Devon, with its quiet country lanes, patchwork of lush green fields and sleepy villages is not to be missed. Stately home lovers will be spoiled and why not finish with a scrumptious Devonshire cream tea?

Lovely inside - very well equipped. Lovely location. However the building site next door was quite noisy and vans parked over the front of the house meaning the view was blocked. Given the photos on the website we were unprepared for how obtrusive this was. Went to ask the vans to move and a refusal by one of the workmen. Without this would have been a well sited property.

As stated by the previous reviewer the building of 4 new properties immediately next door obscures views over the sea and of Inner and Outer Hope. Lorries and vans were parked blocking the access to Woolmancliffe, while the noise was obtrusive. There was no indication of a large development immediately next door on the website for this property at the time of our booking.Had we known we would not have booked Woolmancliffe, it was misrepresentation. On day 3 the boiler stopped working. After a morning calling Sykes customer services with no reply we finally spoke to Sykes bookings who were able to eventually provide a caretaker contact. The boiler remained out of action when we left on day7. On day 5 after heavy rain the drains backed up and overflowed the manhole cover, and we were unable to use the loos. On return I wrote a letter of complaint to a named Director at Sykes claiming a partial refund, but 12 days later I have had no acknowledgment or reply to my letter.
