Area Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

The way the property is represented in the listing sounds a lot better than it actually is.. The outside deck area could be a lovely place to sit, but it needs attention: decking and furniture need cleaning, and plants are overgrown. The iron in the laundry room and the one in the flat need replacing: both have brown residue which will transfer to clothes - I was not able to iron anything. The "boat" shelving area in the living room is dusty and needs cleaning, and there are a few cobwebs around the property. Also, there is a plaque on the shelf "Good woman needed...." which is offensive and should be removed. It would be nice to have blinds on the kichen door and window. On a positive note, the location was ideal for me, and the views are stunning. The bed is very comfortable.
