There are two pretty beaches within a short distance, North Sands and South Sands and further on is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe you must take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking, including the South West Coast path.

Self-Catering Reviews

Mr Mitchell
June 2019
The view is the very best from this property and overall, facilities were sufficient and the property was comfortable.. However, it was let down by inadequate cleaning and tired décor. For the price, I would have expected a thorough clean and at the very least, annual décor update and refresh. The key collection was dealt with by unfriendly and indifferent staff who manage the property - the owners would no doubt be disappointed at this poor management service, worst of all was a complete lack of information and direction for leaving the keys, the office was closed and it took several attempts to locate the drop box. Only one parking space is inadequate for a property that sleeps potentially 7 - most visitors will need at least two cars and parking for two. We stayed for two nights but there was no welcome pack, we are a group of six ladies who often go away for a weekend, we often then return to an area at another date with our families so it is short sighted of the management company to not bother to give us a welcome pack - some milk would have been welcome at the very least! The outside space was a complete let down, poorly maintained and insufficient chairs, also in need of a good clean. Overall disappointing, not worth the money.
