The cottage itself was great, comfortable and very clean, and the kitchen particularly better equipped than the average standard.. However I did contact Sykes customer service just before going, to ask 2 questions 1) the previous reviewer highlighted a mould problem in the bathroom, and I wanted it dealt with before I arrived - it was, but no one from Sykes phoned or emailed me before I got there to discover it for myself, even though I emailed again several times. I do not think Sykes customer service met expectations. And 2) an email from Sykes warned at the last minute that although the ad said free parking, that was no longer possible May to September - So I wanted to know how much it would be. I was told that the owner when asked by you had said they never had any trouble finding free parking nearby, but there was a car park charging 2.50 per day very close, anyway. Well as it turned out the owner was wrong about that, or had never visited during a heat wave weekend, because we had to park a long way away, making unloading the car a problem. And the fee at the carpark was £10 per day, so anyone booking the cottage needs to be warned to factor in that extra cost to their holiday budget.
