Area The charming creek side village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the banks of the beautiful Yealm Estuary. The area is blessed with many coastal and countryside walks. Local beaches, Stoke and Cellars are just a three-quarters of a mile walk. The village is home to two excellent waterside pubs with river views, both of which offer superb meals using the best of local produce.
Across the water, the village of Newton Ferrers, which has a local butcher, chemist, Post Office and general grocery store, may be reached on foot via causeways at low tide. A seasonal ferry also operates between Noss Mayo, Newton Ferrers and the SW coastal path to Wembury. The surrounding South Hams area is well known for its award-winning, sandy beaches and also for the breath-taking beauty of the Dartmoor National Park. All are all within easy reach, as are interesting towns and villages such as Totnes, Salcombe, Dartington and Modbury. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.
