Area In the picturesque South Hams region of South Devon, the bustling small town of Kingsbridge is located at the head of a saltwater estuary. A 3-screen movie theatre, an award-winning pub, and a variety of charming independent stores and coffee shops can be found in Kingsbridge. Salcombe, one of the nicest towns in South Devon, is located on the banks of the Kingsbridge Estuary and offers estuary excursions by ferry during the summer months. Salcombe is well-known for its breathtaking coastal vistas, gently undulating terrain, and watersports haven for kayaking, surfing, paddle boarding, and powerboating. Numerous individual manufacturers, high-end retailers, restaurants offering recently caught fish, and stores selling Salcombe Gin and ice cream may be found there. The South Devon Heritage Coast and this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) are both best enjoyed from Kingsbridge, which is ideally situated as a base. Visitors can stroll along Kingsbridge Quay, explore the winding lanes off Fore Street, or go to Totnes' Shambles, an Elizabethan market arcade. There are several scenic ports in the South Hams region, including Dartmouth and Salcombe, as well as Blackpool Sands in Stoke Fleming and the two sandy beaches at Thurlestone. In addition to the many small, charming villages in South Hams that offer interesting pubs, local farms markets, and charming rows of cottages, Plymouth is a bustling city with the National Marine Aquarium, the historic Barbican Quay, and a variety of nightlife options like theatres, restaurants, and bars. Train connection to Totnes and a short local bus ride to Kingsbridge's town centre make it simple to get to Kingsbridge.
