Beautiful cottage home from home.. Surprisingly more spacious than photos show. Very comfortable and has everything you need and more. Perfect location for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. Would definitely recommend. And would stay again.

Coles cottage manages to be spacious and cosy at the same time.. It was a lovely space to spend time with the family - 3 generations. The double bedroom on the ground floor with patio doors was great for Granny, her own space to escape lively grandchildren. The well established garden was a lovely oasis with enough space for adults to chill and children to frolic. Huge selection/range of books and also games for the family. We really felt welcomed. Would like to return when it's cooler to try out the lovely looking wood-burner in the living room.

We have just come back from Coles Cottage, a family of 2 adults and 2 young boys (4 & 7).. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful and very quirky cottage. The original part of the cottage has slightly slanting steps and landing, which we got used to quite quickly. The parking is easy and in a large area. Sheila and David are the housekeepers and are both lovely and are easy to get hold of to help via email/phone or popping round with homemade scones! There is a new double bed in the room downstairs and 3 sofas in the living room. The cottage is very well equipped, lots of utensils, mirrors, cleaning products etc, especially the kitchen which exceeded our expectations. The 2 bathrooms/toilets are very useful and the shower is wonderful but if you are quite tall you wouldn't be able to stand up in it as there are many low ceiling areas. The garden is pretty, large and private, the boys enjoyed an easter egg hunt there and the road was unexpectedly busy including a main bus route although it looks very quiet. We didn't mind the traffic as it drove straight past as it wasn't excessive and didn't distract us when we were enjoying sunny weather in the garden. There are original windows, no double glazing and lots of old books, maps, games, paper and stationary etc as per the description. Lots to look at whilst relaxing. The only things that would have made the stay even better would be a blind on the kitchen window as it gets very sunny and hot in there and a larger tv, it is only 21" or 24" and a separate dvd player as the one on the television is temperamental and sometimes doesn't work at all and cuts out the sound. This is a minor thing though. There are no recyling bins for card/paper/plastic either, which would have been better if there was somewhere to put it but Sheila said to leave it in a bag and she would sort it out. The cottage instructions are a bit out of date in some areas. All in all a really beautiful cottage, the pictures don't do it justice and a lovely part of the country, close to Waitrose in Holsworthy and nearby Bude and Bideford., a recommended stay.

On the whole, it was a lovely cottage, and we had a really great holiday.. However, the cottage is listed as being suitable for 6 adults and 1 child, and we did not find this the case. The sofa bed was at least 20 years old, and sloped into a v with a 1 inch thick mattress. I tried sleeping on this with my three year old son, and we just sank into the middle and it was extremely uncomfortable, there is no way you could sleep on it for a week. We resorted to pulling the cushion out of the sofa bed, and just putting it on the floor, however when you are paying for a cottage, you don't really want it to feel like camping. This could be easily fixed by putting a double bed in this room, as we did not use the room for anything else other than sleeping, as there was plenty of space in the rest of the cottage. The shower was also a little disappointing, as it would cut out if anyone flushed the downstairs toilet, or if the washing machine was on. For the taller ones amongst our party it was also a little low down, but this was hard to avoid due to the character of the building. We loved the records, games and books and our children really enjoyed playing in the large garden. There was plenty of seating, a bbq and the kitchen was well equipped. We also enjoyed the scones jam and cream on arrival.

Because of the location of the cottage and narrow lanes around (with no footpaths) it was very difficult to walk directly from the cottage..

The cottage is fully fitted with everything you need from utensils and furniture. We felt very relaxed and the garden is a very good size. In particular I enjoyed waking up to the sun shining and sitting on one of the benches in the garden with a cup of coffee listening to the birds singing and peaceful surroundings. There is much to love at this cottage and we will most definitely be returning, thank you.

SEcond visit.. .even better than the first. A really comfortable cottage with everything one could want for a holiday stay...and more. A spacious cottage of great character and uniqueness. An immense collection of books and records of varying interest...a kitchen full of equipment with drawers containing many extras....paperclips, battery chargers, pens, pencils etc. The garden is spacious and self contained...our grandchildren loved it. Ideally situated for the beachers of Bude and Widemouth Bay ...Boscastle, Clovelly within reasonable reach....The Milky Way, the Big Sheep, Hidden Kingdom ...family attractions //not too far. Intend to return again and enjoy ourselves and the cottage even more the third time.

Lovely spacious comfortable cottage with atmosphere. Everything you need including many extras. Beautiful garden ideal to sit in if weather good. Off road parking but steps up to garden quite steep, not suitable for anyone with a walking problem. Access via front door a bit hazardous because of narrow road and passing traffic.

A lovely cottage in a lovely setting. The garden was really nice with plenty of room for the children to play. Easy access to the beaches of Bude and plenty of nice pubs within a short drive for good food and drink. The cottage is very spacious and even with five adults, a three year old and two babies there was plenty of room to relax in. On top of all that the weather was really good!

The cottage was warm and welcoming, we immediately felt at home. The central heating was easy to use and there was plenty of hot water. The garden was delightful we were only sorry the weather was not suitable for us to have spent more time in it. The situation of the cottage was ideal for exploring the area.

The cottage had period charm and enough modern facilities. We especially enjoyed the vinyl collection and the personal items that made it feel like a home from home.

The house was lovely in an idyllic spot, quiet and peaceful. It was close to the sea without being in the centre of the tourist trap. The house was very homely and was also very clean. We enjoyed the piano.
