Holiday home Tucked away on the edge of Tedburn St Mary is Great Huish Farm, a 40 acre sheep farm just a short drive away from the Dartmoor National Park. The original ploughman's quarters have been expertly converted from a 16th century long barn where the heavy horses were stabled, into two superb holiday homes. The Furrow, the larger of the two, retains much of the character of the original barn, with ancient beams and sloping ceilings. The living space is bright, airy and open plan, complete with wood burning stove and oak floors and encompasses a stylish kitchen area. A winding staircase leads to two bedrooms, one of which has glazed doors overlooking the pony field below. To the side of the property is a lovely secluded patio with garden furniture, this leads to a lawned garden which is shared with its neighbour, The Yoke. Please Note: Charging of electric vehicles at this property is prohibited.
Accomodation Details Ground Floor: Open Plan Lounge/Kitchen/Diner. First Floor: Bedroom 1 with king-size bed and en-suite shower room with shower, WC and washbasin. Bedroom 2 with twin (2ft 6in) beds, zip and link to make 5ft double bed. Bathroom with shower bath, WC and washbasin.
Area Tedburn St Mary is in inland Devon, 3 miles from the Dartmoor National Park and 7.5 miles from Exeter. The streets are lined with thatched cottages, pub and a shop. It hosts the Tedburn Fair every September, stone cottages, a 1930s Methodist church, a golf course and a farmers' market. Close by is Dartmoor National Park which has walking, pony trekking, golfing and villages. Exeter is within driving distance and boasts great architecture, theatre productions and shops, eateries and cinemas. Other attractions include Crealy Adverture Park, the beaches at Exmouth and Teignmouth and the National Trust properties of Castle Drogo, Killerton House and Lydford Gorge. Tedburn St Mary is a fabulous holiday destination.

The barn conversion was excellent, very clean, and comfortable, it is in a good location for the most popular places to visit, nice touch when we arrived, eggs and milk in the fridge and fresh flowers on the side.. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family, may even return at some point ourselves.

Our only criticism was we could find no outside furniture.. It was February but the weather was lovely so could have sat outside.

Beautiful converted barn which we could not fault.. Milk eggs and fresh flowers on arrival. Lovely garden to spot various birds on the birdfeeders. Nice and quite location with friendly and helpful owners. Excellent to explore Devon. Thank you David and Judith for letting us arrive a day earlier on short notice.

The owner, Mr Peter Bradley, was there to greet us even though we were a little early.. The welcome was enhanced by milk, tea, coffee and eggs at hand and a lovely vase of flowers. The cottage is 5 star cleanliness and comfort and we all loved it. There is no dog walk at hand but Mr. B allowed us to walk the sheep fields with dog on lead when we were not exploring the wonderful local area. A book of "walks for all ages" was supplied and we made good use of it --plus Fingles Glen which he recommended. The local shop was useful for papers and most things, except wines and a supermarket is in Crediton a few miles away.
Lovely facility giving an excellent base to explore Devon.

Having stayed at the Yoke last year we returned with family and stayed at the Furrow this time.. Like it’s sister cottage it is extremely well equipped and luxuriously furnished. The cottages are in a beautiful setting and the owners are friendly and helpful. We will definitely return again!

Very good property in a good location for exploring this area of Devon.. Only one tiny niggle and that was the absence of a drainer for the sink. There was little room to drain the dishes after they had been washed. As I say, a very small niggle. thanks for a great holiday!
