The accomodation was absolutely lovely, the hostess was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.. The gardens were lovely and ideal for walking our dog in a safe environment. The village setting was very pleasant with friendly people in the local pub and the community shop, which was just outside the accomodation. All in all a brilliant place!

We had a lovely stay over the long Easter weekend.. The home was very well equipped, making a great first impression on the kids, as did the unexpected welcome pack including an Easter activity and biscuits for the dog. They loved having their own ensuites in the rooms upstairs and we enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs bedroom with its own wetroom in the room next door. Our dog Comet was very happy and settled in well, with the wooden and tiled floors making it very easy to keep clean after walks. It felt very private, with the hosts available when needed and unobtrusive when not - the perfect balance. There was no noise from others or outside. Noise does travel within the Barley home itself, but this was welcome as it made it easy for us to listen out for the kids upstairs. A very good find and one I'm sure we'll return to, especially as there is room in the other homes for other relatives when they come to visit too.

The cottage was stunning.. Refurbished throughout with new bathrooms and kitchen. Comfortable, stylish with everything you need. We enjoyed the bbq outside while the children loved playing in the huge grounds of the main house. A magical place we will be coming back.

Barley House is modern, spacious, quiet, clean and comfortable.. It is set in lovely grounds close to the owners house. The owners are very friendly, helpful and keen to ensure you have an enjoyable stay. Dogs are made welcome which is great as the standard of other cottages is not always so good when dogs are allowed. Talaton village is small with one shop and a pub which serves typical pub food-generous portions and very friendly staff. There are plenty of other good pubs serving food nearby. It’s a 15-20 mins drive to nice beaches in Sidmouth, Branscombe and Exmouth amongst others. Bikes can be hired at Darts Farm to cycle along the Exe estuary. Our second stay here and hopefully not our last.

Dartmoore, Exmoore, Torquay etc. Sehr zu empfehlen!

We took my parents and sister for a long weekend and could not have found a better property to meet our needs. Very well appointed and furnished and although very 'modern' it had a comfy relaxed feel, Comfortable beds and super showers.and very clean. Location was excellent for visiting both wet weather venues and when sunny to hit the beach. Diane and Paul were very welcoming and keen to ensure we enjoyed our stay with great advice on local pubs, restaurants walks and travel advice! Interesting grounds to wander with the dog too (on lead as they have sheep in one of the fields). My older parents enjoyed the downstairs bedroom with large accessible bathroom next door. We hope to come back!

This property is a gem and the owners, Diana and Paul, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The location on their estate is beautiful and the surrounding area lovely. The cottage comfortably sleeps 6 and the detail and finish is immaculate. The huge beds and three comfortable bathrooms were every bit as good as we expected, as was the superbly equipped kitchen. When self catering we usually bring sharp knives and other kitchen essentials - no need to here! Diana and Paul, many thanks for all your help and hospitality. We hope to return before too long and will recommend you to any friends looking for a holiday in Devon.
