Holiday Rental Description

This beautiful barn conversion is perfectly situation for an idyllic retreat in the countryside. It provides a great base to explore unspoilt countryside, the Jurassic coast and enjoy local Devonshire cream teas. Beneath the distinctive red cliffs and green hills of the Sid Valley is the nearby seaside town of Sidmouth, known for its timeless charm and folk music festivals. Family attractions nearby include the many beaches and towns of Branscombe for sea swims and a great starting point to walk over to Beer. Charmouth for fossil hunting, and The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth. Crealy Adventure Park and Escot Wildwood provide a full day of entertainment for all the family. The River Otter close by meanders its way via Ottery St Mary down to the estuary in Budleigh Salterton and is a good place to spot wildlife including kingfishers, otters and even beavers. There is even Alpaca Trekking from a neighbouring farm which is so popular with children and adults alike. As you enter the barn you are greeted by the large and airy open plan kitchen/dining area. Spectacular floor to ceiling windows and glass double doors lead out to an enclosed back garden. Next to the dining area is a cosy lounge where guests can snuggle in front of the wood burner after a long day of exploring or open the doors on a warm summers evening and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The kitchen is well equipped for budding cooks should you choose to bring back local ingredients from the nearby farm shops, the local butcher or fresh fish from the coast. A couple of steps lead down to the utility room which has its own entrance from outside and provides storage for muddy wellingtons, and a door leads from here to the bathroom with bath and WC. From the front door, an open staircase leads to the first floor which has two tranquil bedrooms, one double and one twin, and there is also a shower room with WC. The barn has been designed with ultimate comfort for any season in mind. Heading outside via the double doors you find an enclosed rear garden with furniture and a BBQ/Firepit.
