Hidden among the verdant fields of North Devon, this charming country cottage is the perfect setting for a rural retreat to the English countryside. Built during the reign of King Henry V, it’s a shining example of Medieval architecture, boasting gorgeous, beamed ceilings and an inglenook fireplace, ideal for warming up after long walks through the cottage’s adjoining gardens. You’re not completely cut off from the 21st century, though – your hosts have provided a plethora of modern amenities to make your stay here as comfortable as possible. Put your feet up in front of the TV, fire up the barbecue, or catch up on some work in the snug before heading out to explore the local area. You’re deep in the heart of the Devonshire countryside here, so we’d recommend hiring a car to make the most of your stay. Drive into Dolton and treat yourself to hearty lunch at one of the local pubs, or make your way to Dartmoor National Park for a scenic walk through the moorlands. Then, when you’ve had your fill of being out and about, head back to your cosy home from home for an evening of relaxation with all your favourite people. What's not to love?
