Little Evanses is a beautiful cottage in a perfect place. The hosts are lovely and very welcoming, the cottage is both cosy and modern. The cottage has everything you could need and we really enjoyed our week in Dalwood. It was wonderful to sit on the garden decking and watch the wild birds, rabbits and the lovely hens- it felt like a real rural escape. We’d love to come back in the future.

Most enjoyable stay, very comfortable and peaceful.. Only drawback was finding the lane to the cottage. would help if a sign for Evanses was ar the top of the lane. Would recommend this cottage as easy to visit local towns and resorts. Would visit again.

To get to the cottage on the first day you must closely follow the directions supplied and only turn off the A35 at the turn for Dalwood and the caravan site (then it`s still about 2 miles on narrow roads) we turned too soon following sat nav, and ended driving on something akin to cart tracks we managed to turn round and back to the A35 and to the correct turn at the caravan site..

For ten years so far we stayed in this property, mostly twice per year - and would love to return.. But will Brexit bring it (we are a German couple) to a full stop? If so, after having spent more than 3 decades visiting the UK year by year, we will be missing our friends - but will have to find other places to go, though... Future will show.

We loved the property and the views out across the hills, they were stunning.. Karen and Terry made us very welcome. The cottage was exactly as described in the brochure, we could not fault it.

The cottage was very comfortable with all the mod cons.. What made it even better was that there were bird feeders to the side of the decking and we could watch the birds feeding from the kitchen and the lounge windows. As it was on a small holding, there were hens running about and we used to feed them from the decking every morning. It was good to have a bottle of milk and some nice cakes left for us including tea, coffee and sugar. We would seriously consider returning. The only glitch was Helpful Holidays gave us the wrong directions in that the Little Chef closed down some time ago and although Terry has given you new directions these are not being passed on to the clients.

Little Evans is a beautiful relaxing and comfortable place to stay.. We have been there 3 times now and we are always well looked after by Terry and Karen. The house is spotless you could not ask for anything better. The views are amazing. We will be returning again next year.

Little Evanses is a true gem, beautifully appointed , very well equipped and in an idyllic position.. It is the cleanest holiday let we have ever rented and the owners were very welcoming. We loved it.

Another great week at Little Evenses.. Karen and Terry always make us welcome, and after four bookings at this property we class them as our friends. Would love to book the same week for next year, but not with a £73 price increase. Preferred it when you were just Helpful Holidays and not Sykes. Not the same level of customer service as before. And prices have in my view unjustifiably increased which may make me look elsewhere for my next holiday booking.

The barn was superb, clean and every thing that you would want and more.. It’s location high on the hillside was so peaceful, just cows, sheep and birds. The living room has high double doors that open to give you a fantastic view right across the valley, awesome, we looked at it for hours. We were lucky with the weather, warm and sunny, made it a really special holiday. Karen and Terry are the perfect hosts, very friendly, made our stay even more enjoyable. Will definitely go back when time permits.

We would totally recommend this beautiful cottage. The owners are very friendly and accommodating; the cottage is very well appointed; and the views are absolutely outstanding! We came at the same time last year. Even if the weather isn't great, the cottage is so cosy and the autumn colours are still vibrant, that it's just as special staying indoors as it is going out. We stayed during the middle of November and amazingly there were still red roses adorning the cottage. There is plenty of room for two couples to stay without getting under each other's feet. We loved watching the sheep in the nearby field, the gaggle of hens in the garden and the multitude of birds outside the kitchen window. The lack of light pollution makes star gazing unbelievable. The narrow lanes take a bit of getting used to, but as there is so little traffic it doesn't take long to feel comfortable. There is easy access to many beautiful towns and villages including Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. We can't wait to return again next year!!!

This cottage was excellent and in a fabulous setting. It is definitely in our top 5 self-catering cottages and we would not hesitate to recommend it. The owners were charming and we loved their animals - a veritable menagerie! The views were amazing and we liked the village too, everyone you passed was friendly. The pub was a "good food" pub, we had 2 excellent meals there. We were lucky to have sunny (though cold) weather in April.
