Yelverton is an attractive village situated on the south-western edge of the Dartmoor National Park. The village joins the 21 mile-long cycling and walking route, Drakes Trail, which links to nearby Tavistock and Plymouth. Yelverton is perched on the very edge of the moor at Roborough Down, which is also famous for the huge mass of stone called "The Rock".

What a wonderful place! Hilly Field Barn is a little jewel on Dartmoor. Hazel and family are wonderful hosts - very willing, helpful and available, but never intrusive. The Barn is cosy and well-appointed. I was greeted with everything necessary for a cream tea, as well as some lovely fresh flowers. The bed is comfortable and the enclosed garden perfect for my Golden Retriever. I can't recommend this place highly enough, even though I'd like to keep it a secret! Thank you, Hazel and family!

We stayed in this fabulous barn conversion in June 2021 and couldn’t have been more impressed! A very welcome cream tea awaited our arrival and we were so pleased with how clean and well appointed the property was. The owners Hazel and Mark were very welcoming and helpful, yet gave us our own space to enjoy our holiday. Wonderful location to explore the Dartmoor area, shops within 10-minute drive and recommend a stroll to the village pub, The Drake Manor Inn for lunch. A walk to Double Waters from the front door (thank you Hazel’s mum!) is a must. Mobile phone signal not good (excellent!) WiFi is available. A beautiful spot to get away from it all. Oh and our cocker spaniel also had the time of his life! Highly recommended.
