We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely characterful cottage, well equipped and very comfortable, especially the divine bed! Very exciting garden and local walks for our little dog. So peaceful and secluded we had lots of bird and squirrel visitors during the week, as well as a couple of deer grazing in the field in front, and a lovely terrace to sit and watch from. The approaching twisting, narrow lanes took a bit of getting used to but we actually met only one car in our lane all week! Only two small issues, handshower only in the bath, and spring water had a slightly unpleasant smell, so bought large bottled water for drinking - so no problem. Overall a lovely place to stay for peace and quiet.

Thankfully, it all came back 100% clear and safe, so our guests can continue to enjoy our local spring water. Otherwise we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in this beautiful area.

We absolutely loved everything about Hedgelea.. The position is exceptional with beautiful views across the countryside, situated along a quiet lane hardly any traffic. We enjoyed a very restful and relaxed week, inside the cottage renovated very tastefully to a high standard but with all mod cons and lots of little extras. In fact we didn't venture further than the nearby villages as we were able to walk along the lane to woods and along the river (Tarka trail) with our little dog. The wild flowers were spectacular and the only sounds were of birdsong. But the cottage is also ideally situated to explore Devon too. We would not hesitate to recommend Hedgelea and can't wait to go back!

One of the best holiday cottage we have been to and we have been to lots.. !! Not another house in sight down a county road. Garden and meadow very secure. Dogs and granddaughter loved the freedom of it. Very comfortable and everything in it you needed. We took our bbq and had some lovely alfresco dinners.W.F worked very well but no BBC channels but that didn't bother us lots of games and D.V.D s to play if you need them. Beautiful cottage with lovely surrounding very restful just what was needed.Dogs gave it the paws up as well.

This is a lovely cottage in a very beautiful and peaceful area.. Great base for exploring the wider area. Being remote the phone signal was poor but the Wi-fi provided was good. TV can only be accessed via mobile phone unless you watch ITV only. The lanes approaching the cottage need to be driven with care and attention to the numerous lumps and bumps, not suitable for our sport low profile tyres ☹️ Everything provided at the cottage was lovely, bedding, towels etc

Hedgelea is a perfect place to explore North and South Devon and the Moors.. The house has been very tastefully and sympathetically renovated to a high standard providing everything you need. It is rural, with the town of North Tawton approximately 15 minute drive away for provisions, but as a result extremely peaceful. We would have no hesitation in recommending Hedgelea to anyone looking to explore Devon and the Moors.
