A ten-minute drive from the pristine shores of Devon’s Woolacombe Beach, this modern lodge is an isolated, minimalist abode that's perfect for serenity-seekers. While you can reach the town of Georgeham by taking a seven-minute stroll through the lush countryside, the home truly does feel like a world away. With spectacular green views in every direction, courtesy of the panoramic windows and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, enjoy the great outdoors even when you’re cosy inside the home. Find woven dining chairs, a plush sofa, and a cushioned headboard against your bed for when you’re relaxing indoors, as well as a bath in the en-suite for a late-night soak. But it’s the outdoor offering which we found really impressive. As well as a large, enclosed garden where you can let your pooch run wild, there are even more activities to enjoy after dusk falls on your private porch. Switch on the fairy lights for a magical evening on the soft sofa under the covered decking, then slink into the hot tub with a glass of champagne as the stars come out. This setting is simply ideal for gazing up at the night skies.

Home truths

This home is for adults only, children and infants are not permitted

Up to two dogs are welcome, and you even have an enclosed garden to the rear so they can get their own space – but there's a £25 fee per pet (which you'll need to pay weekly for longer stays)

This home has two private parking spaces, and we do recommend bringing a car to explore – public transport doesn't go right up to the lodge

There are a couple of steps up to access this home, meaning it's not entirely step-free although it is set on the ground floor

As this home doesn't have laundry facilities, it might not be suitable for long-term stays

About Woolacombe

Undulating hills rise up behind Woolacombe, creating a verdant backdrop that makes Woolacombe Beach one of the prettiest in Devon. In fact, the bay, which lies at the bottom of a valley, is often described as the best beach in Britain, with visitors able to surf, kayak and stand-up paddle board in its waters. Follow the coastal path that runs along the beach to spot birdlife and seals bobbing in...
