The property

The Yellow House is a mid-terrace, early 19th century character cottage with exposed beams situated in the heart of the popular seaside town of Dawlish on the south coast of Devon.

Sleeping up to four guests and situated near to a range of amenities and the beach, The Yellow House is an ideal setting for your next family adventure, within easy reach of Exeter and Exmouth.

The Yellow House is furnished to a high standard and features art from local, South West artists.

Enter the property into the living/dining room; on your right there is a spacious dining table, where you can gather your loved ones together to enjoy an evening meal as you toast to a wonderful holiday, whilst on your left there is an electric fire in an exposed brick chimney which adds warmth to the room as you settle in front of the television to relax after a long day by the coast.

To complete the ground floor, there is a well-equipped kitchen with a handy dishwasher, where you can prepare a picnic to take to the beach, a meal to eat in the dining room or rustle up a favourable buffet to take outside and embrace some alfresco dining in the enclosed sun trap courtyard, whilst you enjoy the last of the evening sun.

Moving upstairs, there is a bathroom with both bath and walk-in shower, so choose to take a long soak or get a quick shower to wash those sandy feet after a day at the beach, before relaxing in the armchair on the landing with a selection of books for some quiet time.

When the evening draws to a close, you can escape to the king-size bedroom with ample storage to unpack your personal belongings, or to the ideal twin room, which makes for flexible sleeping arrangements in a homely environment.

Dawlish is a great seaside town, with everything you need to enjoy your holiday, including an abundance of shops, bars, eateries, takeaways, and a theatre, charming gardens, an exciting crazy golf course and of course the wonderful sandy beach.

A scenic walk along the coast takes you to the next seaside resort of Dawlish Warren, where you can explore another sandy beach or have an evening out in The Boat House Tavern and Grill with its outdoor seating looking out over the water.

For a more lively day out, take a short drive to the town of Teignmouth where there are two beaches, a bustling grand pier, an idyllic lighthouse and the opportunity to hire a boat which makes for a great afternoon on the water.

Slightly further afield is the cathedral city of Exeter with its medieval bridge, choice of museums and art galleries, and eateries looking over the River Exe, as well as the Crealy Theme Park and Resort on the outskirts which is a worth while day out, especially for the children.

Also in driving distance or by seasonal ferry from Starcross, is the popular is the popular seaside resort of Exmouth, with its boat tours, fishing opportunities, the historical Pirate Cove, the multiple breathtaking beaches and the remarkable marina.

Dawlish is on Brunel’s famous railway line which runs right along the coast from Exeter to Teignmouth and is well served by national (London to Paignton) and local trains.

All the local resorts are easily accessible by train from Dawlish so you can leave the car at home and enjoy a day out, and stunning scenery, while you travel to Teignmouth, Torquay, Exeter or beyond from Dawlish station.

For those guests who fancy a day with magical walking routes, waterfalls, wildlife and bike trails, head for a day in Dartmoor National Park and try take a picture at the gorgeous Becky Falls.

For a magnificent holiday to Devon, choose The Yellow House as your base.
