Dartmouth is a popular tourist destination in Devon because of its location in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and proximity to the coast. Dartmouth has a beautiful waterfront, narrow cobblestone streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants, and art galleries, as well as numerous local events, including the Dart Music Festival, the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, and the Dartmouth Food Festival in October. The Dart Valley Trail, the South West Coast Path, and quiet country lanes are a plenty in and around Dartmouth, making it a great place to go biking or walking. Dartmouth's Steam Railway and a boat ride from Kingswear to the charming harbour town of Brixham are must-do excursions.
